Been here twice in the last few weeks as I prepare to leave the city for good. As per usual, great service, great atmosphere, great drinks. Everybody I have ever introduced to this bar loves it, and with good reason.

It could be a while before I can make it back again, and this genuinely makes me sad. I may have to try and open an imitation speakeasy in my garden shed :'(

Beautiful bar with fantastic drinks and a great team, make sure you try either the "Date in Manhattan" or "Can't Sleep Till Brooklyn"
My favourite bar in Edinburgh.

My fiancée and I visited this exclusive little cocktail bar over the weekend.

It's not a place you'll find unless your actually looking for it. It's tucked away in the corner and doesn't have your full neon light setup above the door. It's not designed to pick up the passing trade, it's more of an exclusive, book before you arrive place.

You walk in to find a very small and busy little venue where people are sat and having great conversation.

We the menu comes in an envelope marked confidential, which I thought was a nice little touch. There was an array of different cocktails to chose from, all different and all genius. There's things you wouldn't dream would mix and work but, they do and trying them is what the entire experience is about!

We were sat with strangers to the right and left of us but we're in conversation with them from the word go, tasting each others cocktails and so on, that's the vibe in there. Everyone's happy and friendly.

The staff are helpful and fun. We arrived unannounced to begin with not knowing we should have booked. I left my name and number and received a text to let me know there was a spot free and we headed back. No standing around outside waiting for someone to leave. We just left and went elsewhere then had the option to go back, which of course we did. What a great way to work.

I can't really speak highly enough of the experience, this place truly made our evening.

We can't wait to visit again.

I was staying in an airbnb just next door on Rose Street and noticed this place on a Friday evening. I could hear the patrons and I was waiting for my friend to arrive from London so I popped in for a drink. It's very very small, but cozy. I loved the speakeasy atmosphere. It was even more fun since I just happened upon it.

The menu arrives in an envelope marked "confidential." I grabbed the last seat at the bar. The bartender immediately set down a glass of water. I think my first drink was vodka based and came with some dried raspberries and a lemon twist on top. It was good, but by the second drink I wanted something a bit more adventurous. The second drink came in a smoke filled bottle which I got to uncap and pour myself. It was really good. Sorry I can't remember the exact names...

The bar was completely packed the whole time I was there but wasn't overly noisy if you wanted to have a quiet chat. It would be a cute date spot. When it's time to settle up, the check comes in a little envelope marked "case closed," which I thought was a nice touch.

Located on busy Rose Street - however you would not know it is a bar as it looks like a detective agency from the outside!
Have a number of bottled beers as well as wine and cocktails.
Ideal for couples or for folk who want to meet up for a chat.
Friendly service.
