We eat here often and ghe food is fresh tasting and filling. The extra large nans negates the need for rice! Always a pleasure. But be aware of the 1 pound charge for corkage even on a cider or beer, bit of a shame really.

Whenever my family or friends are going out for a meal to mark a special occasion or just fancy a good curry then the Guru is the first place we think of. The food is excellent, the portions are substantial and the staff are friendly. I've been numerous times and never had a bad meal there. The naan breads are huge so you don't need to order as many as you would normally. They're probably about the size of an average tennis racket, including the handle. My sister in law isn't normally a fan of Indian food but she's more than happy to go to the Guru. Can't praise it enough.

Went for our usual post indian meal after Murrayfield. Poppadoms were soft which was not a good start, starter nice, main meals of chicken byranni very average, other of rogan josh nice. Asked for ice cream to be told , dont do it anymore. Wine average , cost not bad but its a BYO so its your choice. Received a free Drambui each. Been many times and found this our poorest experience but still not bad. Poorest Byranni I have ever had though. Felt we were hurried out of our table.

Poppadoms & mixed chutneys - very good
Peshwari Naan - lovely - great flavour
Pilau rice - good
Curry (x2) should have been the highlight of the meal but were ..... bland...... with little or no spice (heat was good) but sauce truly flavourless.
Must be better places to get a curry in Edinburgh.
