Description: La P'tite Folie is situated in the heart of Edinburgh. The Tudor House restaurant offers a lively and charmingly atmosphere to enjoy traditional French cuisine. Specialities include home made chicken liver pate, aumoniere filled with brie and ratatouille with a tomato coulis, and cider marinated pork escalope with apple and calvados sauce, all of which can be complimented by selecting one of the many wines on offer from around the globe. Indeed, this branch of La P'tite Folie has its own separate wine bar area and serves light lunches as well as other delicious French cuisine in an unpretentious manner that ensures many of its customers become regulars.

Had lunch here with two friends on a busy Saturday afternoon in upstairs section. At £11.50 for the two course lunch, it was excellent value. Food was delicious and house white was perfectly acceptable. There appeared to be only two staff members serving the entire room, but somehow everything was on time and beautifully presented. Lovely historic old building. Would definitely go back - probably in the evening next time.

Four of us turned up at this busy place on a Saturday lunch-time without having booked - and were accommodated straight away by some adjustment of tables. Only proviso was that we had to be gone in an hour and a half - no problem, as we couldn't linger, anyway. The two course lunch was delicious and very good value at Edinburgh prices. The wines, too, were excellent and again well priced. The restaurant is well situated in the West End of the city, close to Princes Street, and with public transport nearby.

A lovely French Bistro just off Charlotte Square. A two course lunch for just £11.50 is excellent value. We have been twice and both times the place has a real buzz about it as well as the food being delicious, I had ham hock terrine to start my partner had the Arbroath smokie fish cake followed by the Coley for him and the Hake for me, all four dishes were lovely. Service was good but frenetic two staff covering 17 tables on a very busy Saturday. They could definitely done with another waiter upstairs. We loved it and will be back.

We ate here recently for a family lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.Busy with a nice buzz, which didn't slow down the excellent service. Unusual building, tables were quite cramped for a party of 7 but when the food arrived that was forgotten. Parsnip and honey soup was delicious, followed by vegetarian of the day - polenta with broccoli in a ragu for me, others had the hake which was lovely and the pork belly stew -which was a bit dry for a stew?
We will definitely be back and will try the wine bar downstairs for a drink sometime.

What a fascinating building, part Tudor and part polish church. Makes a wonderful airy and light venue whether in the wine bar or the restaurant. Delicious food cooked beautifully and served well. Very good value for money - 2 course lunch for £11. 50! Good service. French cuisine at its best. Quiet but just off Charlotte Square and Princes Street.
