“Great food and service.”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Halloween could have been really busy, but we managed to get a table for 2. We were taking advantage of the 3 for 2 offer and chose a total of 6 dishes. 1 of the dishes was new and unfortunately the chef had not quite perfected it. It came out uncooked and not tasting very nice. In an instant the waitress, Lauren, swapped it for some Patas Bravas.

Whilst we were finishing our meal, Lauren was coping with a rowdy table of 12 which would have tried the patience of a saint. But she kept smiling. We did not stay for dessert but enjoyed chatting with Lauren whilst the restaurant was closing.

On the whole, the food was lovely, atmosphere great, but the service made our visit fantastic. 3 cheers for Lauren!

first time we have eaten tapas at home and we were so pleased with our choice of restaurant. pork ckeek with mash potato, white fish in san miguel batter and chorizo were 3 of the outstanding dishes out of the many that we had. we thoroughly enjoyed it.

“Quite nice restaurant.”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

We visited this restaurant one night. I love Spanish food however, i don't think anything can come close to the real thing in Spain.

Me and my girlfriend both enjoyed our food here. The staff were quite friendly and i liked how they were actually Spanish and i spoke to them in Spanish. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, it made me feel like i was in Spain. We got a mixture of foods. The only one which i didn't enjoy too much was the patatas bravas (Spicy potatoes in a sauce), I simply didn't enjoy it because ive never had it that spicy before, it literally blew my mouth off.

One thing i didn't like not necessarily with the restauraunt but with Edinburgh no one seemed to have my favorite drink (Disarano) (An italian almond liquere) wich i mix with coke. Its all i drink but no bar or restauraunt seemed to have it :( Its popular in England but obviously not Scotland.

It pretends to be a place of Spanish cuisine. I've been to many times and eaten hundreds of meals in spain. They are liars. not happy nor impressed.

“ta ta to tasca”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Having eaten at their restaurant in Hanover street in the summer and enjoyed it, we decided to return with our son. Bad idea. Staff friendly and welcoming on our arrival but felt pressure to make selection from menu as quick as possible as waiter constantly approaching our table. When food did arrive it was warm and no more. I like my food to be piping hot. Paella looked and tasted as though it had been there all day just waiting for our arrival. Nothing tasted fresh. Sauces too sickly and although still hungry did not feel like ordering more dishes. Another annoyance was the fact that despite being served lagoustines and therefore having to shell them, we had to ask for a finger bowl as none were forth coming.
Bathrooms located upstairs and named 'services'. Was glad of the exercise to get there as warmed me up for entering the baltic. They were freezing and to top it all there was no hot water! Very disappointed with our visit here and certainly won't be back for a third time.
