“The Lairds Table is Royal ”
Reviewed June 1, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We came, we ate, it was awesome. This is a hidden treasure about 30 minutes outside of Glasgow. The food was delicious and the facility is filled with artifacts from the Craufurdland Castle.
The best part was the items that can be ordered all day like The Scottish Breakfast. Delightful presentation, casual
l atmosphere on the Castle grounds overlooking the Fishery.
Beautiful scenery, first class food, great atmosphere.

“Surprise 60th for Mum”
Reviewed May 21, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Absolutely fantastic and beautiful venue for my Mum's surprise 60th. The whole family went and loved it. Plenty of space and the beds are very comfortable. We all had a fantastic weekend. Adity and Simon are very nice people and extremely welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend this unique experience, the only problem is it has to come to an end we all wanted to live there haha. Extremely glad we booked Craufurdland Castle could not have wished for a better place.

“Perfect for our occasion”

We have just returned from a super week at Craufurdland Castle.
It was for a family reunion of 13, to celebrate a 70th Birthday, and our Golden Wedding.
The Castle kitchen was very well equipped, with two of everything.... dishwashers, fridge freezers, toasters, filter coffee makers, plenty of crockery, cutlery, and glasses.
Next to the dining room, which had a large dining table, and even more crockery and glasses.
In the entrance, was a useful utility area, with, toilet, sink, washing machine, boot and coat hanging space.
The four bedrooms, all ensuite, plus a family bathroom, were very comfortable, another twin or king room above, then the Garret, above that, in which our three grandsons were more than happy, to retreat to, at the end of day.
The large Drawing room, made for very sociable evenings, chats and games with the younger ones.
We were well situated for walking, for the more able ones, exploring Glasgow, a cruise on Loch Lomond, and to view pretty Luss, a Whisky distillery, Bagpipe museum, Pollok National Trust House and Dean Castle.
It can only get better, as it looks like an eatery, is being constructed, next to the Wee Cafe by the Lake, which looks like a Fishermans Paradise.

The owners, Adity and Simon, could not have been more friendly and helpful.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable stay, and the Castle housed us all perfectly.

“Wonderful place to stay absolutely charming”
Reviewed March 6, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

We booked this for a family 70th birthday as a surprise. There were 16 in our party. From booking and right through our stay Adity and Simon were amazing. Helping keep the surprise, making it special and being there throughout our stay when we needed anything. Have never had so much of a personal touch anywhere. Even going to great lengths to clear road in following the heaviest snow in a long time to ensure it wasn't ruined! The Castle Wing is just beautiful. Every room is as you would dream of in a Castle and has its own particular charming features. We all had our favourites. Everyone was so impressed. The kids loved it too making up stories about the people in the portraits and if ever there was a dream hide and seek venue for them this was it! The kitchen and dining room are so well equipped for size of party. Not a single negative about this we hope to go back again one day. Feel spoiled and relaxed! Thank you so much! x

“Fantastic stay in amazing castle with lovely hosts and a convenient location!”
Reviewed February 21, 2018 for a stay in February 2018

I stayed at Craufurdland Castle with 15 friends for my 30th birthday and had the most amazing time. Simon and Adity were very lovely and generous with their time. It was a beautiful building, so much history and yet all the modern amenities you'd want. I can't recommend enough!

“Quirky stay with chores....”

Great party venue. Every room Is different. Beds very comfortable, decent dining room but quite small kitchen for this size of property. The castle are big on recycling which is refreshing for rentals. The bins are around half a mile away from property though so be prepared to pack car boots and do some bin runs! Lots of rules - eg clean the toilets, strip the beds and vacuum. Bit much if you ask me, never encountered that before all with a 10am checkout. We ended up cleaning vaccuuming the night before as no time with all the kids in the morning. We enjoyed our stay but couldn't really relax with all the chores we had to do and instruction letters stating large charges for not adhering to house rules. We are always super respectful of rental properties. If you don't mind a bit of cleaning and enjoy unusual properties then this is for you.

Thank you for your review. We are really pleased you enjoyed our Castle. I am sorry you felt the castle kitchen was too small; we generally only book it for a maximum of 16. In this case, we extended it accommodate your whole party as your friend asked if another family could join them. As we didn’t want to spoil the get together we agreed.
Regarding the cleaning, most of our customers have said they prefer the prices to be kept down, rather than pay more for cleaning to be included. Also, with more than usual guests there inevitably is more than usual cleaning required.
Taking you feedback into account, I will look into how to do an extra option for a cleaning fee so our customer can simply leave The Castle tidy. I know our welcome letter and list of chores seems onerous, unfortunately it has become that way iteratively as many people don't do basics such as tidy before they leave.
Regarding 10am checkout, if asked we do offer a later check out time when possible, especially in off peak season.
