Owner description: Dean Castle Country Park is an excellent free day out for all the family. The Country Park boasts a 14th century castle and beautiful woodland walks. The Country Park has almost completed a project to upgrade its rural life centre, play park and visitor centre; these will reopen in autumn 2017. Restoration works to the Castle will begin in January 2018. Please note that at the moment only the castle courtyard and Medieval Kitchen are open to the public.

Lovely walks around this beautiful country park. (Dogs to be kept on leads - great idea). Unfortunately the oldest park of the castle was closed to the public on our visit due to water seeping in. However we had a tour around the palace; Donna the tour guide was friendly and very informative. So much better having a tour with guide as you would miss much of the history etc. She does a great job. It's all free too!

Had a fantastic time with the family, walked the nature trails, explored the castle, saw the deer as well as all the animals at the petting zoo. An absolutely great place to get every one out in the fresh air a must for any family.

Went here on Saturday for an hour or so and with the weather being wet and horrible the play parks were not even considered. We went to visit the small animals, mainly rabbits and guinea pigs. There were also goats and pigs, which the kids liked to see. Baby rabbits are available for purchase at only £10. The field area down the hill from where these animals were located was extremely flooded and so we did not go near this area. Overall good for an hour or so, especially in this weather.

Easy to get about, accessible for most people. We saw deer, explored the keep, learnt about the castles history and met the well cared for animals. Thanks

Went here when family where visiting. A bit tucked away but plenty of free parking. Plenty to do and very children orientated. Spent all day there visiting all the exhibits from the castle to the small farm area with plenty of animals.
