Wife on business in St Andrew's for a few days (30 mins drive) so most of the day spent out. This hotel is small and cosy near the shore in picturesque Broughty Ferry with fine seafront walks. I was able to park the car right outside. Nice room on ground floor - not large but with two 3/4 beds together had a good sleep. The room was clean and perfectly adequate. Some minor gripes - broken spotlight bulb (replaced when I mentioned it), WiFi not working and a dusty shelf in the wardrobe. The weather was poor so no-one was using the beer garden which was right next to our door. At the weekend there was a buzz from the kitchen and bar/restaurant till late, and a couple of time there were revellers just outside the window which is right on the street. Didn't bother us but we were told that we could have an upper room next time. We ate in the busy restaurant on Saturday evening and the food, drink and service were lovely. However, it was very noisy where we sat (in an alchove), due to the accoustics of the place. It is a bit cramped but with plenty of atmosphere as you would expect from a place like this - a great place to rub shoulders with friendly people. A homely and friendly place, e.g. chef helped carry our bags. We would love to go back and see more of the area.

Room Tip: Probably best to have an upstairs room if you might be disturbed by the buzz of the place.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Rooms are excellent. We ate both nights from an extensive menu and were very satisfied with our meals both nights. Breakfasts were also wonderful and all staff extremely friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. Would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend to family and friends. A great experience for our 18 year old son and his mate as we don't have places like this in Australia!

Decided to go away for a couple of nights at the last minute and stumbled upon this hotel using a search engine. The price offered seemed too good to be true however they certainly surpassed our expectations, we would have paid more. Lovely room, more spacious than we envisaged, fantastic breakfast and service was excellent. There was a little noise at night from the pub downstairs but didn't affect our rest at all. We'll definitely return.

Hotel/ Inn was comfortable and the bedrooms where modern and pleasant. If staying in a room facing the street then, it can get very noisy at night, but some earplugs helped!!!

We never ate in the bar, but the food looked nice. Breakfast was fine. My recommendation is to have dinner at the Ship Inn around the corner. But book in advance as the place is very popular as the food is awesome.

All in all a very good place to stay in Dundee (Broughty Ferry) a few foot steps to the stony beach and a 5min away from the sandy part...... !!!!

Room Tip: IF you want a good nights sleep, and you are staying on the Saturday night.... get facing to the bac...

We stayed here in June 2012,the first night we were kept up until 2.30am by a party of very rowdy golfers. The rooms seem to have no sound proofing and we were woken up every night by other guests going to the loo or just moving around the hotel.
The room was adequate and clean although the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the tiles were falling off the side of the bath in the bathroom.
We were very dissappointed to find we had to clear tables in the dinning area before we could have our breakfast, but the food on the whole was good.
We have attached a photo of the view from our bedroom window which as you can see was not good.
This was our first visit to Scotland and did not create a very good impression we were very dissapointed and would not stay again

Really enjoyed our visit here. Good quality pub food at an affordable price. Seating area limited so booking essential so as not to be disappointed. Will be back next time we are in the area.
