Premier Inn Dundee East Hotel
Ranked #12 of 28 Hotels in Dundee
Reviewed August 6, 2011

As we drove into the car park at this Premier Inn, the hotel appealed instantly from the outside and an equally attractive bar/restaurant: The Bell Tree, sat adjacent to the hotel. There were plenty of free car parking spaces outside the hotel, so we had no trouble parking the car.
Across the road from the hotel a Co-op late shop, Domino's Pizza and a Chinese takeaway are amongst a small handful of shops which I thought was really handy and of course offers an alternative choice to eating in The Bell Tree.

We checked in and were greeted by friendly staff who welcomed us and spent time chatting about where we were from and what brought us to Dundee etc, before being given directions to our room which was up on the first floor and overlooking an attractive garden area at the rear of the hotel.
We used the lift up to the first floor as we had a suitcase, but used the stairs when we left and returned to the hotel later after eating out.

Our room was a spacious double room, decorated much the same as all Premier Inn rooms with their purple theme which I personally like. The room was also spotlessly clean throughout.
The window was small and dormer style which added character to the room with its sloping ceiling. Despite the window being smaller than most hotels I have stayed in, there was adequate light filtering through into the room, so the window size was not a problem.
Four pillows were placed upon the bed, but you can request more from Reception if you wish. The pillows I found extremely comfortable, as was the bed.
A fan was included in the room, which is something most Premier Inns seem to be adding to their rooms now.
A flat screen tv, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, work space and open wardrobe hanging space was also provided as well as a large sofa bed.
The bathroom was also spotless, with bath and overhead shower. Shower gel and soap were provided in wall dispensers and also a couple of fluffy white towels each.
Myself and my partner felt comfortable at all times and had everything we needed and so there were no complaints from either of us as we spent an enjoyable night at this hotel.

Lovely meals are served in the adjacent pub/restaurant and we will definitely return to this Premier Inn in the future.

Thank you for writing such a great review about our hotel and your stay with us. It's always fantastic to hear that a guest has had an enjoyable stay with us and that they have found our rooms to be comfortable and clean. We are indeed very luck to have so many additional amenities for our guests right on our doorstep and we always get great feedback about our "neighbours".

The team do try very hard to make sure that our guests feel welcome and I'm glad to hear that they succeeded. Hopefully we will be able to welcome you back again in the near future.

Kind Regards

Jennifer

Friendly staff and clean room. Everything is neat. What surprised me most was the bathroom curtain. It was made in a curve shape, so that the bathroom curtain would not stick on your body once you were taking a shower. We had a wonderful stay.

Thank you for your review about your recent stay with us. It's always great to hear that a guest has enjoyed their stay with us. Our curved shower curtain rails are proving to be a popular addition to our rooms, thank you for letting us know that you liked it, at Premier Inn we are always looking for new ways to ensure that our guests enjoy all aspects of their stay and sometimes it's the smaller touches that have the most impact.

Thank you again for taking the time to write your review and we hope that we will get the chance to welcome you back to our hotel the next time you are in the area.

Kind Regards

Having got Friday - Saturday night for £80 in April we decided to look out the Premier Inn £29 deals and got two nights for £58 (Sun17th/Mon 18th July)
The Hotel has a lovely feel about with the first floor rooms having dormer windows & coombed ceilings giving the feel of a Country Hotel, all beit with the Premier Inn Corporate touch.

Clean, tidy & friendly reception.

Attached to the Bell Tree Pub, which is definately not your 'run of the mill' pubs attached to this type of hotel.

Great selection of Wines, Beers & the Menu was great. Added to that it was very reasonably priced if not CHEAP.

Broughty Ferry a 30-40 min walk or £6 in a Taxi, which has everything on a small scale, added to the Castle a beautiful beach...If the weather was guaranteed in this part of the world you would never get a room

Cannot wait until the next time I have a spare weekend to get a break.. A MUST

Room Tip: All the rooms are the same. 1st Floor rooms have a little more character. Perfectly good lift

This is a very friendly Premier Inn, the staff were very informative when we arrived and the room was very comfortable and clean. The amenities were good with a few local shops opposite the hotel. Liked the comfort of the room, plenty of room to move about but tended to be too hot through the night, fortunately the hotel provided a portable fan for our use.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff are helpful and friendly and stress that if there are any problems, that is what they are there to sort. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable and the beds are truly the best. Our view of this chain has vastly improved.
