Owner description: HM Frigate Unicorn is a preserved historic ship and visitor attraction in Dundee. Built in 1824, she is one of the six oldest ships in the world and Scotland's only preserved warship from the Golden Age of Sail. Great fun for all the family, HM Frigate Unicorn is open all year round and boasts four atmospheric decks to explore. So come aboard and join us on the world's most original wooden warship!

“Untapped Potential”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2013

This is the poor neighbour of the RRS Discovery. The untapped potential of the Unicorn needs proper tourist attraction marketing. Well meaning individuals have for decades ignored what family attraction need. This vessel never fired a shot in anger and was a training ship for most of its life. The covered decks remain with a shed like roof from the 1950s I guess.

“a look into the past”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

as an ex seafarer it was interesting to see a ship of the line from a different era. It is a pity there is not more tourism in Dundee and the dock isn't used more ....either for small sailing dingy/canoe training

“Jazz & Blues on the Unicorn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

Around monthly - great little jazz and blues club on board run by a great bunch of volunteers, great national and international stars on a regular basis. Book online on the Frigate Unicorn's website.

“Well worth the visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2013

Spent a couple of hours visiting the Unicorn and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very good describing how life would have been at sea in these types of ships. The visit was well worth the entrance fee which was very reasonable. Well done Unicorn.

“A piece of history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

The frigate is almost in its original condition and the staff show such genuine affection and enthusiasm for her. It's amazing that this incredible piece of history is not supported locally, receives no financial support and yet charges so little an entrance fee - £5.25. Thank you to those who give their time to keep HMS Unicorn open to the public and care for her.
