“Memory Lane in Dundee”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

This tour is a must for any one interested in local history. Verdant work is the last surviving mill of it's kind which needs to be visited to be appreciated. Step back in time to a by gone age of Dundee's connection with India and the Jute Barrons. The mill takes you on a journey when raw jute is processed and turned into such things as sail cloth and jute bags. Working machines still survive and these can be seen working. Be prepared for the noise !
Very nice staff too.

“Noisy but excellent attraction”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

Superb history of the mill life in Dundee 80 years ago. There is also a wee street / house that is a replica of that era too that you can walk around. You will learn all about jute and how it is made. There is still a lot of the machines that work and they are VERY loud when they are running, but it is amazing to watch!

“Brought Dundee's past to life.”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

Well worth a visit! Decided to visit as weather forecast was awful! Very glad we did! Hugely interesting and a brilliant way to bring Dundee' s amazing past to life. You will never look at the city in the same way again. Informative, helpful and friendly staff made it a memorable visit.

“Very Interesting Peek at a Prior Century”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

My girls and I made a point of stopping here during our stay in Dundee. We planned on spending an hour or so and ended up spending several, wishing we had more. We ultimately had to speed through at the end because we previously arranged to meet friends elsewhere. It was very educational without being dry. The exhibits are interactive and held the attention of the youngest of us (9) as well as all the older children and adults in our group. Another nice things was it was not jam packed--in fact, in the middle of July on a weekday, we were the only ones there. I highly recomend this for anyone interested in learning about the lives and livelyhood of those living in Dundee during its height of industry.
