We go to the Fisherman's most Fridays to meet friends for a drink after work. It is small and can get very busy but that just adds to the atmosphere. Staff and patrons are all friendly. The food is good and portions a good size. Well worth a visit.

This is tucked down a side street in Broughty Ferry just outside Dundee. Broughty Ferry well worth a visit for lovely promenade and quirky shops..and to to have lunch or dinner. Here. lovely staff, excellent food even though the pre printed menu looks like something from a chain of restaurants. had a great steak which i would happily have paid 3 times the price for (and have!) Husband had great real ale and the wine was on offer at £9.99. We will definitely make a trip from Edinburgh here for a day out. The specials are also excellent.

Went in for lunch with my wife and son and the service and prices were very good. A good selection of grub on the menu with a blackboard showing all the specials. Service was good, staff were attentive without being intrusive. Not exactly the most salubrious of eating establishments in the Ferry, but everything was clean and well presented. Would recommend stopping off here next time you're in the area.

The Fisherman's Tavern is an excellent venue for a bite to eat, a drink (Real Ales a specialty) and indeed accommodation. For anyone that's interested, I have submitted two in-depth reviews which cover the food and drink side of things in the "Dundee Hotels" section.

It is a shame the previous reviewer (lizfarmer1) "Very Disappointing" of 5/1/2013 submitted her review of a different establishment (named within her review) in the same street under this venue, which will clearly affect it's score and reputation. I have contacted T.A. to advise it is posted to the wrong location.

We had some friends staying and decided to take them out for lunch over a few days to some pubs in the ferry. We are pretty fortunate in the ferry that we have a good selection. First stop was the Fisherman's. Well know pub to Ferry folk. Lots of character. Which can translate to being compact! Still, good atmosphere and service was pleasant. We all had the Steak and ale pie.No complaints. Crust was nice and there was a reasonable amount of beef in a nice gravy. Veg was a little iffy but chips good. Overall would say "try".
