“nice pub food”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

came through to dundee from the west coast to see family and came down to broughty ferry as this was one of my late dads favourite places and the ship inn was one of his favourite pubs. We had the breaded haddock for lunch and it was lovely, absolutely massive piece of fish and nice and fresh, with a nice fresh side salad and chips. Perfect pub food and we will definately be paying the ship inn another visit next time im home!

“Nice restaurant with a very nice view!”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

Girlfriend took me for a meal here in May and it was very nice. My haggis starter was a bit dry and very large but the seafood medley main, which we both had, was brilliant!

Waitress was very attentive, even if the room was sweltering. Could do with opening a window.

The view over the bay is lovely, only wish we booked a table at the window now.

“Ship ahoy!”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

This little place ticks so many boxes. Good food, generous portions, excellent ales, cheerful and efficient staff, fantastic view of the silvery Tay and a warm atmosphere. I have eaten (and drank) here often and I have never been disappointed. Perhaps the menu could be a little more imaginative but that is a minor concern. This visit I had filo prawns to start followed by the seafood medley. Delicious and satisfying. Recommended.

“Great food and view”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

Our B&B host recommended the Ship Inn to invite our friends to dinner and we were complimented on the choice.
We were given a table upstairs which had a good view of the river Tay.
The food was fresh and delicious. Service was fast and courteous.
The bill for our party of six was very reasonable.
The only negative was that there are no facilities for wheelchair access. I suppose one could dine t the bar downstairs.

“Satisfaction”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

We couldn't find the restaurant that had been recommended to us, but found "THE SHIP".....weren't we lucky. Very pleasant meal and a stunning view. a weekday and perhaps the waiting staff were a little inexperienced but pleasant and accommodating.
