Description: Welcome to Encore brasserie and restaurant at Dundee Rep Theatre. In Dundee’s cultural quarter and at the heart of the Rep is our award winning bar and brasserie, Encore. Your ideal destination for intimate dinners and celebrations. Our first-rate chefs believe that food should be fresh, tasty and served with flare. We offer a stylish blend of classic and modern dishes, mouth watering sides and deliciously naughty desserts.

We enjoyed a pleasant dining experience at Encore where the food is good and reasonably priced,
Our server a young Irish guy was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. The ambience is relaxed and the decor modern.

We decided to try Encore before going to a performance at the Rep and liked it so much that we returned a couple of evenings later - we had previously thought of going somewhere else but decided there was no need! The brasserie is clean and comfortable, and the staff very friendly, accommodating and provide an excellent service. Food is interesting, delicious; portions adequate and very good value for money. Highly recommend, especially to pre-theatre goers.

I used to eat at the Rep quite a lot at lunchtime, and having not been for a year or so, went back last week, and was really disappointed! We were greeted nicely and sat at a table, the refurbishment is good, I had high hopes....Then we waited for a drinks order to be taken, for about 10 minutes, and finally got our drinks 5 minutes after that (on a lunchbreak of 45 mins) For speed, I had the rare roast beef sandwich, and there was more fat and gristle on the bread than there was meat - it was really terrible! I would have complained had the waitress bothered to do a check-back, or even allowed me to catch her eye, but she was too busy looking sulky at the corner of the bar...When she came to take our plates away, she asked if everything was ok, we complained that the sandwiches had been very fatty and got the response 'i'll tell the chef'. Then we got given the bill! No apology, no explanation...apparently you're just supposed to say everything is great, or better yet say nothing at all!

Had coffee in the upstairs bar after picking up tickets from the box office. Nice cafe/bar with comfortable seating. All coffee is priced at £1 with free refills for filter coffee. Good selection of snacks all reasonably priced. Nice lunch menu on offer although we haven't had food here yet but its on our list. Well worth a visit and excellent value.

Since our last visit to the restaurant they have redecorated and added a glass partition between the restaurant and the foyer which makes it more cosy.

The pre-theatre menu is not large but there was enough choice and reasonably priced. Service was attentive and polite and the food very tasty, especially the desserts which we left space for having skipped starters. The restaurant tends to quieten down after 8pm as most dinners appear to go prior to going to the theatre. Good if you want to hear yourself talk, not so good if you want more of a buzz.
