“Great Hotel”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

This was my second visit to this hotel this year. The food is fantastic especialy the dinner. We felt like we were on Masterchef trying out some great dishes. Very tasty and pretty but reasonable prices and good portions . They do an evening special of £15.00 aprox for 2 courses, Breakfast is buffet style and again very nice and good standard and quality. The decor of the hotel is very nice and the staff very polite and good at their jobs. The rooms are great with everything you need incl a good sized TV and hospitality tray with tea , coffee and biscuits. I think that the location is easier to get to by car or Taxi - not too far from the main city shops but a good walk. There is off street parking and the location is very quite with some nice grounds to the front. Lots of good central heating and hot water which is great as it was a cold winter. Nice and cosy. Would highly recommend this hotel,

Room Tip: stayed in 2 rooms both nice and spacious.

Situated in a quiet, leafy, superb a couple of miles from the city centre with ample free car parking the BW Invercarse is just OK for an overnight stay.
The room was small but well appointed, with a decent sized tv which would have benefitted from being properly tuned in, especially to radio stations.
On the plus side a stable free Wifi link was available.
Bed comfortable with decent pillows and linens but this hotel has adopted the annoying policy of providing wall mounted soaps in squeeze bottles which I hate. The towels were thin and well past their best.
My biggest complaint was that the shower was the weakest I have encountered in a long time, so ask for a room with decent water pressure.
To typify my experience my wake-up call had been mistakenly written down as being a half hour later than I had requested. I did receive muted apology, but that was it!
This hotel was fully priced, as estate agents say, but with a bit of thought to details the experience could be a lot better. I would probably stay again if the price was a bit lower

Room Tip: Ask for a room with decent water pressure if you want a decent shower.

Having attended a dinner in this hotel situated on western outskirts of Dundee, I spent a comfortable night in a well- appointed bedroom with spotless shower and toilet, with tea/coffee making kettle in room and wall tv that worked from console (which is not always the case!).
Checkin and checkout were efficient-service with a smile.. I enjoyed a tasty, hot breakfast-very good selection of fruits and bakery-sitting in the restaurant with glorious view of River Tay and snow clad hills beyond. The city of Jute Jam and Journalism (Dandy and Beano comics published in Dundee) is being re-developed, notably the waterfront (lots of road works) , in the post-industrial age. It will host the new V&A Museum to be constructed by 2015 but, already, it has excellent visitor attractions including the Discovery ship and centre (Scott of the Antartic), two professional football clubs, lots of golfcourses within 20 miles-and two universities-and the world famous cancer gene centre at Ninewells Hospital. Good access by road and rail and daily flights direct to London City airport.B&B for just £60 is just the job for business or leisure trip-and a spacious, free car park onsite too.i will return. .

I recently stayed here on a business trip. The hotel is clean, rooms comfortable and staff friendly. Food in the restaurant is very good and specials reasonably priced. I stayed in room 210 which was comfortable, but walls were thin and I could hear every conversation my neighbours were having. Over all though, I'd definitely stay here again.

Recently stayed for one night, hotel was very clean for the most part but there was a dead insect on the wall in our room when we arrived. Staff seemed friendly and helpful but at £80 for a night was a bit expensive as it didn't justify the same level of pricing as a Hilton or an Apex. Food was nice but bar a bit pricey at nearly £4 for a pint of Tennents.

Ate at the Invercarse as part of a big family party. Decent food of a fairly high standard. Not fine dining but good hotel level. The black pudding starter in particular was very tasty. Service friendly and they coped well with the large group.

All in all a good place to eat in Dundee if not very exciting.

We were overnight on business for a conference. Staff were nice rooms not so. The room I had was just above the reception area at the top of the stairs. It was small and very noisy i think it was room 105?. The restaurant was what saved this trip with good wholesome food served lovely haggis. Conference facilities were good. So overall decent stay just the room was very poor.

Room Tip: Sorry rated pool by mistake i dont know if there was one. Get a roomat far end.
