My wife and I recently met up with a sister in law and two grandchildren for a pre-arranged 'Brunch' .
My sister in law lives very locally and is a 'regular' .
My wife and I have been on a couple of occasions before but some while ago (before the recent upgrades to the fishing facilities) and were impressed with the quality of the food then.
This time was no exception and although the place was mobbed (on a Sunday too) , but included an unexpected 'Christmas Market' on the same day, a table was found for us and we enjoyed various combinations of a 'Full Scottish' between ourselves and the kids.
To 'walk-off' this excellent repast afterwards we had elected to circumnavigate one of the lakes , but had to cut it short owing to the curious placement of outside caterers with mobile burger vans and queues and queues of people waiting to be served, which took up a lot of space close to the main building.
This did not detract, however from our visit although we were pleased to leave when we did as the approach road (and the main road outside) was somewhat gridlocked with hopeful traffic trying to find a parking space , with some drivers in total denial of the fact that it was patently obvious there weren't any. Consequently, the exit from the area was almost completely blocked .More
