We stayed at Forbes of Kingennie for 3 nights for a family 80th Birthday Celebration in December. Our lodge slept 10 and there was plenty of room for the children to play safely. The underfloor heating kept us cosy and we appreciated having logs delivered for our stove in the expansive living room. The kitchen was very well equipped and we made full use of it.
Do try out the fishing, we aren't experts, and the staff showed us how. They were genuinely keen to see we had a good experience on the fishing ponds, and we caught two trout.
Also there is a lovely circular walk starting at the back of the big lodges and coming back down through the golf course, great for working off the food and wine.
We ate in the restaurant once and both the service and food were excellent, try the Sirloin, thick and cooked to perfection. Between us we ate most of the dishes on the menu all were very good. It was good to see a proper piece of fresh fish on the kids menu.
There were twelve in our party and we were all pleased, the staff were upbeat and informative. Ideal for an extended family get together.More
