The hotel has a good location in Dundee with excellent South facing views over the Tay from the front rooms. It is situated on a tight and potentially dangerous junction, so a little care needs to be taken when dropping off luggage etc. but this is not an issue. Our room was perfectly clean and adequate for our needs.
However, the main downside was a complete sub-standard breakfast, highlights including:
1) The euphemistically described 'scrambled eggs' - something which I had not seen since those lumpy, watery concoctions made out of powdered eggs that institutions like schools and the armed forces used to serve up as a kind of joke.
2) Tiny croissants, over-heated to the point that they might have made good charcoal.
3) Some sad looking dried up sausages, which looked as they must have been waiting for days for someone to choose them; only a few brave souls were obliging - most people were just standing around bemused - saying: isn't there any bacon?
So, a good value place to stay in Dundee, but don't expect culinary delights.More
