We booked this hotel, at the last minute to take a break from a busy work schedule. We arrived at 4.00pm on Saturday 27th Feb to a very friendly reception. After a quick registration, we were shown to a very nice front facing room, looking out over the town. At 7.00pm, we went down to the bar before dinner, and relaxed in front of a nice fire. The dinner was excellent, with quick efficient service. After a quiet night we went down for a very hearty Scottish breakfast. We could not see the view from the dining room in the evening, but where very pleased with what we could look out on at breakfast.
The only complaint we had was that the room was a little cool for our taste, and the duvet on the bed was a little smaller than we are used to. But everything else more than made up for it.

We stayed here for one night to break a long journey from the north of Scotland to Devon and enjoyed an extremely pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and attentive; the food was good; the bedroom was spacious and confortable (in fact we were upgraded from a standard to a superior room with a 4 poster bed) - what more can I say?

Friendly and very helpfull staff serving good quality food and drink at reasonable prices.
Perfect base to visit numerous other places in both Scotland and England, depending on how far you want to drive daily.
Moffat itself has lots to offer with a full range of places to eat and drink.
Ideal for driving , cycling and walking.

My family and I traveled 200 plus miles to visit Moffat for a weekend break. Our stay was made very enjoyable by the hospitality and warm welcome we received.

The food and menu is of the highest quality, as all the meals we received where very tasty, and beautifully presented.

The room given to us was very spacious, clean and suited all of our needs, including free WIFI access.

We would recommended a stay at the Moffat House Hotel to anyone thinking of visiting the area, as the hotel and surroundings is very nice indeed..!

We stayed at this hotel on our way back from London, the staff were fantastic with our baby. We ate in the hotel restaurant which was lovely and very reasonably priced, in the bar there is a lovely open fire with nice couches to relax on. On arrival we asked if it would be possible to have a cot in the room this was no problem and the gentleman on duty quickly arranged for one to be set up, the room was lovely and cosy and the bed very comfortable. Best breakfast I've evry had!!

We booked the New Year package at the hotel and loved it. The town and stunning hotel wouldn't have looked out of place on a Christmas card thanks to the white blanket brought on by the big freeze during the festive period. It may have been freezing outside in the town's lovely main street, but inside the hotel it was cosy, charming and warm. The owners, the Lawson family, know how to treat their gusts and make them feel at home. Sublte changes to the rooms from the last time we visited only added to our comfort. The bar's blazing fire was also a big plus, especially considering the sub-zero temperatures. The food, as expected, was fabulous and we were well looked after by the friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed our three-day stay so much we are looking to book up for next New Year too. Great value for money too.

Me and my wife stayed a second year at Moffat House for the 3 night Hogmanay break. As last year, it was fantastic. Excellent cuisine, a homely welcoming atmosphere, all in all a perfect break. unfortunately we had to leave a day early due to family illness, but the staff were fasntastic. Congratulations Paul, and all the team for yet another brilliant time. How you are not No 1 hotel in Moffat defies belief. We will see you later in the year, can't wait!!!!!
