“Second to none!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2013

Absolutely lovely... full wheelchair access, including to the standard toilets rather than having a separate bathroom, and a very helpful waitress and chef who went out of their way to sort out food that conformed to a peculiarly special diet. The music gave a lovely romantic ambience and it was the sort of place that you could go in either in a 3-piece suit or jeans and teeshirt and not feel out of place. Crisp white linen everywhere and a very good menu with something on it for everyone, the al-a-carte menu was rather pricey but they have cheaper options if you go on the right day/time. If your diet is very complicated due to allergies etc. then take a small written list of the foods you can't have and show it to the waitress and you're likely to be found something you can eat happily.

What a lovely restaurant this is! Superb value for money married to a varied choice of dishes catering for all tastebuds and friendly service makes this a top choice for a family outing. The sticky toffee pudding and fab ice cream - brilliant ! This is worth the 120 mile round trip!

“Amazing!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013 via mobile

Me and my girlfriend ate here, Its a bit out the way but came recommended thought we would try it. So glad we did! We arrived late afternoon around 2.30 and were made to feel very welcome. At the time there was a festive menu so decided to go for that and it was lovely, also the sticky toffee pudding was the best I've ever tasted! Service was really fast and the place was busy. The waitresses are so professional and clearly have loads of experience, you can tell they enjoy working there and were so friendly, you couldn't fault them. all in all a brilliant dinning experience. Next time Were in Dumfries we will definitely be paying a visit! Keep up the great work!

“A great experience - a hidden jewel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

This was a surprise discovery for me. I have been on the quest for a good dining experience in the area and was lucky enough to attend Casa Mia with some friends, who had found it on-line.

It seemed a well hidden establishment -- granted it was dark when we arrived and I could not see much of the surrounding area however it did seem squirrelled away at the end of a long row of houses. I was not sure what to expected as we arrived.

I was not disappointed, and was amazed at how large it was. The staff were very friendly from the outset and we were efficiently escorted to our table and welcomed to the restaurant.

The food was exquisite in every way, from the mouth-watering description on the menu, the presentation, and of course the eating experience. Each of us selected a different starter and main and we were all quite delighted with the results. Portion size was generous and in the end we were unable to consider the deserts!

The choice of wine was good and the prices equally pleasing. Tableware was of good quality. I was also pleased that the layout was not too intense so you did not feel that you were participating in the next tables conversation! 'The facilities' were very clean and well appointed too.

It's difficult to fault the experience -- perhaps the fresh carnations as a centre piece on the table was a let down, almost cafe-like but that flaw is almost not worth mentioning.

Overall an A+ from all at our table and I look forward to a return visit.
