We stayed at The Mabie House Hotel recently and what a fantastic place !!! Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived - we were made very welcome from the moment we stepped through the front door . After being shown to our warm and spacious, spotlessly clean bedroom, which had lovely views of the hotel gardens and the festively lit up tree, we then sat in front of the the huge log fire(which was VERY much appreciated due to the very cold weather) with a drink before dinner and enjoyed talking with the very friendly staff and the resident parrot !!!.
The food was first class -both dinner and breakfast couldn't be faulted in any way -delicious !!! We were actually sorry to leave Mabie House but will definitely return in the future. It isn't often that you find 'wee perfect havens' like this.

Every aspect of our stay at Mabie House Hotel was outstanding - the welcome when we arrived, the well-appointed room, the delicious food, the helpful and friendly staff and the general ambience. Despite the exceptionally cold weather during our stay, the whole of the hotel was warm and comfortable. This is undoubtedly a gem of a hotel and we shall certainly be staying here again whenever we are in the area.

Mabie is one of those places with location, sound and friendly staff, good grub, comfy rooms, quiet and always warm.
I've stayed here many times over the last four years and it's always good to return to the relaxed and comfortable Mabie.
Another positive....when first staying mobiles phones would not work...fantastic....but then someone installed a mast somewhere and the damn thing rings again - doh! That's a negative.

Mabie House Hotel is friendly and set in a beautiful location. The twin room I stayed in was enormous, but had a slightly odd smell and my bed made so much noise when I rolled over that I ended up putting the matress on the floor the second night.

It's perfectly located for the 7 Stanes mountain biking, and serves a decent Scottish breakfast to keep you going. They went out of their way to accommodate our group of mountain bikers, allowing us to dry our damp clothes in the hallway and keeping the bar open when we arrived back late.

Down to Dumfries on a short business trip, decided to combine with a bit of leisure so brought the family for a break. Couldn`t have wished for a better venue. lovely big room overlooking the garden, rabbits on the lawn and sun streaming in in the morning. Breakfasted early and got on with with I had to do, partner and kids set off with a packed lunch, provided by the Hotel,to explore Mabie forest on moutain bikes hired locally, suggestions from a knowledgeable local staff on things to see and do. We all had a great break and I even got in some golf.
Good comfortable hotel with sizeable portions of well cooked and presented food, nothing too much trouble for the friendly staff, out of hours breakfast, flask of coffee, plasters for grazed knees, and close to but not in the town. When I am in Dumfries I know where I will be staying, Eddie Shaw. Dornie. Ross-Shire
