We stopped off here on our way to the Scottish Highlands, and it was well worth the diversion from the M74.
The welcome from the host (I forgot his name - sorry!) was warm and helpful. (Hint: If you're going to use the restaurant recommended - and it IS good! - take the car as it's a fair old hike!)
The room was beautiful with a four poster bed. There was some traffic noise (we had the window wide open because it was a warm night), but nothing too invasive. Similarly, the building work next door started quite early, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel at all (and should be finished soon).
The inclusive breakfast was excellent!
Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others.
