“Thank goodness for Nonalous...”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

This quirky cafe is a breath of fresh air in Dumfries where there has been little variety in the way of lunch time eateries for some time now. Nonalous is a relaxed, homely tearoom with a large variety of foods, catering for all tastes and dietry requirements. It's so lovely to go somewhere for lunch that caters well for vegetarians too. All the food is flavour packed and well though out.
The service is friendly and smiley and it's overall a very happy place to go.
They now have a late night opening on a Thursday for cakes and coffee, I recently arrived just as some gooey brownies were coming out of the oven... exactly what I needed on a frosty Thursday evening.
You can 'like' Nonalous on facebook but beware their regular posts and photo's of tasty treats will have you rushing to try some!
Occasionally when I've been for lunch on a Saturday there's been a queue but we only had to wait 5 minutes and it was well worth the wait - and i suppose a queue is usually a good sign!
I would definitely recommend this place.

“Best lunch in Dumfries?”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

Had lunch here this week after hearing good reviews and wasn't disappointed. The homemade soup (choice of 2) was excellent and a good portion. The sandwiches were freshly made and generously filled. And the tea was delicious - apparently from a Glasgow company.

Only a short distance from the town centre and even has a car park.

What's not to like?

“Nonalous - will return”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

Many thanks to the very friendly, helpful staff at Nonalous. Had lovely light lunch and will definitely be going back for scumptious cake (work ethics - not enough time today). Everything homemade, which is such a change nowadays. It is a place I would love to take visitors, family to experience. Well done to everyone who is making this venture such a success.

“A definite asset to Dumfries”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

Just back from lunch at Nona Lous. I had soup and a sandwich which is really good value (£5 and something). I chose the cauliflower and cheese soup (the alternative was tomato with pesto so it was a difficult choice). Sandwich was chicken, sundried tomato and pickle. Food was delicious. Great atmosphere and service. The old classroom is a brilliant setting and I love that there's virtually no matching crockery or cutlery or chairs or tables - quite unique for Dumfries. And the knitted tea cosies are so sweet!

Don't go there for a business lunch - it can get quite loud and noisy.

“Great Saturday Lunch Venue”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Just love the atmosphere and service in Nonalous, the tea and food are great and all home made. Has the vintage feel and love the china cups and saucers. If you are looking for gluten free all catered for. Soups are lovely and great unique sandwiches with pick and mix menu. We visit weekly when we can and would recommend a visit.
