This house where Burns spent the last years of his life is packed with memorabilia. It is very interesting to see manuscripts in his own handwriting. We were amazed that publishers were pirating his works over 200 years ago. The garden opposite the house is very peaceful.

Yet another free house to look around in lovely Dumfries. This is the home where Robert Burns died. It is well kitted out in the style you would expect for the era, I was surprised at how big it was. You are left to wander around and can take photographs. There is plenty of memorabilia to keep someone interested in Robbie Burns busy for a while. Do give a donation though as it helps with the upkeep. We were advised to look at one of the windows where Robbie had etched his name with his ring but we forgot!! Maybe on our next visit

It was really interesting to visit the place where Burns lived in Dumfries for some time. I spent most of a day following a map of his various haunts.

Nice little museum in Robert Burns' last dwelling place. Many interesting items showing how life was then and information on Burns himself. Staff very knowledgable when asked questions.Very pretty place. Could do this in under an hour and very worthwhile.
