Food good, hire bikes terrible. If your intending to do the Mabie-Seven Staines trails (red upwards) with hire bikes, DON'T. The hire bikes are junk. Very old, badly maintained and low spec. I would suggest Kiratree as they have a great bike shop with good full sus bikes to hire.

Excellent biking! A great trail to ride. We love it here, have been many times and will go back again soon. Bikers- stay at Mabie House Hotel, great prices and it means you will be the first one on the trail!

I went to Mabie intending to hire bikes for me and the wife and after phoning was told there were bikes available. I got there to find there were only bikes that I would have given to the scrap man. What a joke.

I had to abandon the idea of riding Mabie and went over to Dalbeattie where we hired some decent full suspension bikes that were properly maintained from Gorsebank.

Visited several time great for walking or cycling also dog friendly. £3 to park all day - bargain. Kids play area, cafe, bike hire (book first) Hotel if you want to stay over. Close to Dumfries and very easy to find.

Really varied, quite challenging but loads of rewarding fast downhill sections in return for the climbs.
