This is the 4th year our group have stayed with Billy & Wilma. As always they are very helpful and can't do enough for us. The breakfasts are great and the rooms clean and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need for a great stay! We would recommend anyone visiting Dumfries to stay with Billy & Wilma to experience the best that the town can offer! We hope to return next year when we're at DG1

This family run guest house is the best ever I have stayed in. With a warm welcome from the moment you step through the front door, to the very well decorated and furnished rooms, equiped with flat screen tv's and WIFI.

Breakfasts can be either cooked or cereal and fruit.

Room Tip: Upstair rooms are quieter.

Second time back for me (third time for rest of party) to this very friendly and spotlessly clean Bed and Breakfast. Billy and his wife Wilma make you feel instantly at home, and nothing is too much for them. Very well furnished rooms, with ensuite facilities and a lovely conservatory where a magnificent breakfast is served. The garden grounds are extremely well kept and are beautiful. Nobody could be disappointed here. My wife and I, and my two in-laws have just come home from a lovely two night stay. Thank you to Billy and Wilma, and we will definitely return. Angus (from Aberdeenshire).

We stayed overnight as we were attending a funeral in Dumfries.
The level of service was excellent as was the owner.
The room was very well equipped with all we could want.
Would recommend.
Thank you

This guest house is right in the middle of town and so close to all services. The rooms themselves are well maintained and all come with a TV and plenty of storage. I travelled with my family for a weddin g and my parents had a room with a fou poster bed.. The owner of the guest house was fantastic and without even asking he offered to drive us to the reception in Mabie to spare us a taxi and drove through Dumfries showing us the sights and giving us a tour. The next morninig he enquiered of our night and the breakfast was excellent. There was no limit of how much you could eat and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. A great place to stay when in Dumfries. First Class.

We booked this guest house as an overnight stay on our way to Fort William and could not have found anywhere better. It is the most unusual place full of memorabilia and quirky objects, that the owners have amassed over the years, but there was not a speck of dust anywhere (spotless). Billy (the owner) is rightfully proud of what he has achieved with this guest house showing us all the other bedrooms which are all unique. Our room was perfect, extremely comfortable, the breakfast excellent and we were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. This will definitely be our first choice as a stop over point or as a base on our next visit to Scotland.

My wife and I stayed at the Hazeldean last weekend whilst visiting Dumfries to watch a football match. The Guest House is conveniently situated about a 10 minute walk from the town centre, making it handy for all that Dumfries has to offer. We arrived early to a friendly welcome from the hosts and we were actually given a choice of rooms, deciding on a room with a beautiful four poster bed. The house is like a museum packed full of interesting pictures and furniture, the host Billy certainly knows his local history being able to answer every questioned we asked him. Breakfast was also great especially the local yogurt and eggs.
The Guest House provides fantastic value for money and Billy even helped me jump start my car the morning we were leaving as I had left my car lights on when I arrived. The Hazeldean will certainly be my first choice on any future visits to Dumfries.
