We went here for the first time in years, we'd been disappointed by the vegetarian choice on our last visit. It was a Sunday so the buffet was on.
We were pretty surprised that there was NOTHING vegetarian on the buffet, even the veggie pakora was mixed in with the chicken etc, but were reassured when the waiter said they would bring us dishes. A plate of veggie starters arrived eventually (well they must have made it separately so we didn't hold that against them). not much between 3 people when the buffet says 'all you can eat' but we were grateful they made it. Our meat eating companions waited a while after their starters but eventually gave up on politeness and went to get their main course, finished that, went up for seconds and finished those before there was any sign of the veggie curries we'd been promised. And what we got was 4 side dish bowls with 2 different curries (this is between 3 adults). We thought that was a bit stingy until we tasted them. Really sweet and bland. 'frozen veg' type vegetables with a couple of very crunchy chick peas thrown in one of them. Really disappointing. It wasn't expensive so if you like sweet bland food it's probably good value but if you actually like Indian food go to Daksh on Queen St!
I gave them 2 stars not 1 because one of the waiters was nice to us and seemed to be working really hard, can't blame him for what comes out of the kitchen or how long they take. It wasn't all that busy so I don't know what it would be like if it was full! The other 2 waiters just seemed to be swanning about (and ignoring us) so we felt quite sorry for the busy guy.

Went here for the Sunday buffet. Booked a table but still had to wait 5mins for the table although the restaurant was not that busy. The restaurant is modern and very clean. Waiters were quick to take the drinks order and reasonably cheap at £2.85 for lager. Starters were very tasty and about 5 choices with dips, naans and popadoms. 9 different mains from mild to reasonably spicy. Food could have been a little warmer but not to bad. No sweets. At £10.95 good value for money and well worth visit.

We visited on Saturday night to a busy atmosphere. Tandoori chicken was delicious and there is certainly a kick to the hotter dishes compared to some other supposedly hot dishes in other places. Had to ask for the bill three times, however an enjoyable experience.

I had chicken Rogan Josh and my partner had prawn curry. My dish did have chicken in it but somehow there was no flavour at all and was an much hotter than any that I have ever had before in my 40+ years of eating this dish. It was impossible to determine if the tomatoes, green peppers or onions were there as apart from from the flavourless chicken everything else was a lurid red mush. It was a colour that does not appear in nature. My partners prawn dish had the same lack of flavour which was a considerable achievement.

The manager I complained to claimed that fact that there was no detectable flavour in the meals was because of the style of cooking so if you want to be served a curry that it is imposable to taste this is the place for you.

The food was actually quite tasty, however the whole dining experience was far from tasty. We were forgotten about with our popadoms (the first item of our meal), then the Rogan Josh (detailed as being made with chopped tomatoes) turned up pureed! Then - after being forgotten about again, got overcharged for our meals.

That said, the manager couldn't offer enough apologies - but I'll definately not be back whenever I go to Dumfries again
