Excellent location, very comfortable room and bathroom, all spotless. Owner was very helpful and met all our special requests. We also likes the historic aspect, right next door to where JM Barrie lived. We would stay there again if going to Dumphries

From the freshly ironed linens to the delicious breakfast this is a first rate b&b. This was our first trip to southern Scotland and we loved the heather strewn hillsides and most friendly people. Our host, Dave, was most welcoming and made our stay a lovely one. Dumfries is larger than I expected, a quaint town and the center is only a ten minute walk away. Stores and restaurants close very early so bear that in mind when making plans. We felt very welcomed and will carry pleasant memories of our first visit to Scotland.

I stayed here for two nights with my wife and we were delighted with the room which was spacious and spotless. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had both bath and a shower. The B&B is fairly close to a busy road, but we weren't disturbed at all. Breakfast was very good quality and passed my "sausage test" with flying colours. The only slight gripe was that the coffee was disappointing, but we are very fussy about coffee! Glenaldor is only a couple of minutes walk from the railway station with Dumfries centre being a little further than that, so it's extremely convenient. Stay here, you won't regret it.

My girlfriend and I stayed here recently as I was down in Dumfries for work and the minute we arrived we were very pleased with property. The owner met us on arrival and was very friendly. The room was spotless and very nice. The shower was brilliant and the room had everything you would want and more from a bed and breakfast.

The next morning breakfast was lovely and served very quickly.

A great place and will be back to stay next time work takes me to dumfries

We felt immediately at home thanks to the warm welcome by the owner, and things went even better when we saw the room, bright, huge, spotless clean, and so beautiful... The breakfast, with first-quality ingredients was just the brooch that made this house a really recommended experience.
We regret not having the opportunity to stay longer there.

We stayed here August 2014. Beautiful guest house situated in a lovely quiet, leafy part of town but just a few minutes walk from the train station and a few minutes more for the town centre, very handy location. The house is beautiful, with many original features and a lovely garden. David was very friendly and welcoming and was the perfect host during our stay. Our room (Room 2) was spacious, with everything we needed and had a really large en suite (bath & shower). Both were tastefully decorated in neutral colours and were spotlessly clean. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast, all tastes were catered for and nothing was too much trouble. My husband had the full cooked breakfast both mornings and said it was cooked to perfection. I would most definitely stay here again when in the area and would highly recommend it to family and friends.

Room Tip: Room 2 has a really spacious en suite.
