Arriving at Glenaldor House after 5 hours walking around the grounds at Portrack House (well worth a visit on the 1 day a year the grounds are open) and it was wonderful to have a friendly greeting and be taken straight to a comfortable and spacious room. The facilities were excellent, including the best shower screen I have ever used in a hotel or B&B. The breakfast was very good and served promptly by David. I have no hesitation in recommending this as a great place to stay in Dumfries for one night or a longer stay.

Stopped in Dumfries on way up to Ayr. There was a good choice of B@B in Dumfries so we followed other people's recommendations. We were not disappointed! Very friendly host, large comfortable room, very good breakfast and good value. Will stay again if in the area

Beautifull house , great host good breakfast, had a very good time during our stay here. Would definitely stay here again. We arrived early and were greeted with a warm smile and were told that our room was ready which was a bonus.

Room Tip: Room 2 was for us quiet and had a good view.

We stayed at Glendora House in freezing April, the house was comfortable and warm. Our room was of a high standard with large en suite bathroom. The location is very good for walking into town with plenty of places to eat.
David is a helpful host, breakfast was great. Would stay again.

I booked this B&B for a couple of nights in Apr.

The B&B was easy to find and in an excellent location. It is a 2 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk from the town centre. There is a big Tesco and outlet park under a mile away and a Morrison's within walking distnace should you need to pick anything up.

On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and although we had arrived early we was able to check in to our room and drop our bags off before heading out again.

The room was lovely and clean, a good size with tea & coffee making facilities and everything else you would need. The bathroom was small but again perfect for what you need. The bed was extremly comfy and provided to very relaxing nights sleep. There is all a TV in the room with the basic freeview channels.

We got the chance to experience breakfast twice and both my wife and I was extremley impressed. There was more then you can eat and the quality was beautiful home cooked food at its best.

All in all the B&B was a extremly comfy, warm welcoming, friendly, clean and with a breakfast to go back for!

We stayed one night at Glenaldor House at the beginning of April and had a really lovely time. Our room had very high ceilings, it was beautifully furnished, very comfortable and we had a huge en-suite bathroom. David was a great host, flexible with arrival times and gave us helpful information about things to do in the area. Dumfries town centre was within walking distance and the coast and castle were a short drive away. Breakfast was delicious, with vegetarian options and choices for all tastes. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

I stayed over at the Glenaldor House Guesthouse last week for 2nights. I really enjoyed my stay here. The room i was in , room 1 was spacious and to a really high standard.

The owner, David even started breakfast a wee bit earlier for me as i start work at 7.30. It seemed that nothing was to much trouble for him.

I was really struggling with a cold when i was staying here, and the comfort of the bed, the electric blanket and additional heating was really helpful to me.

I'd recomend this place to anyone in the dumfries area either for business or for pleasure.
