We stayed in Melrose Cottage which is in the Abbey Courtyard not the main house. The cottage was light, bright and spacious. The cot and highchair provided were a great bonus and there was plenty of space in the livingroom for our 1 year old to crawl about. The grounds are very peaceful and although there were other families staying in the cottages most of time it feels like you have the whole place to yourself including the pool and games room. The pool is good if slightly too chlorinated and is a bit too deep for little ones but was great for us to go for an evening swim. The manager was very friendly when we seen her but there aren't many staff and guests are left to have full run of the grounds/pool at all times, which suited us. The location is good with lots of sightseeing/daytrips nearby. There is no internet/mobile phone reception but we enjoed a break from those too! We would definitely come back again!
