“Great Day out for the whole family”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Bowhill is a fantastic place to visit with something for everyone. The adventure playground has a huge slide, various swings and two flying foxes. The grounds are huge with two lakes, regular paths as well as paths in the woods. The boys took their bikes. They do den building courses too. There's a lovely cafe and gift shop. The house itself is still used so only open for a few weeks in the summer. We really enjoyed the tour of the house, early August, Ros was a great guide. There's a free booklet for children, with things to look out for on the tour ( which otherwise might be a bit dry for them) as well as quizzes and word searches. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Pay once and your pass is validated for the rest of the season.

“Perfect family day out”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

Beautiful gardens, adventure playground and reasonable tearooms. Spent the afternoon sitting by the loch with a picnic and searching for frogs. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

“A good day out for all”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Bowhill has something for everyone, excellent large outdoor adventure playground suitable for children from 3 upwards, an indoor soft play area for smaller children, very good coffee shop which serves lunches, a gift shop both contined in the courtyard and of course the house which has a very large art collection, check for opening times if the house would be of interest to you. There are lovely walks through the woods and around the loch and ample parking. If it is somewhere you would visit more than once then purchase a year pass as this is only a couple of pounds more than the entrance cost

“Something for Everyone”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Bowhill House has a fascinating history and the rooms are beautifully designed and filled with incredible antiques - some stunning furniture and paintings.
The grounds are well managed - lots of woodland to explore and a loch teaming with wildlife.
There is an adventure playground which the kids love - a huge slide and zip wires being the favourite - and the little ones are not left out now, with the addition of a great soft play area.
Lots of outdoor activities throughout the year, and a little theatre showing a variety of performances for adults and children.
We visit almost weekly throughout the summer months.
