We are regulars at The Waterwheel . Food and service consistently good. Menu changes regularly. Very good value for money. Everything freshly cooked on premises. Great coffee and cake especially the gluten free ones. Lovely outlook over the hills. Staff very friendly and efficient.

visited for an afternoon coffee. was nice but no atmosphere and a little on the expensive side for the limited choice available. Maybe just an off day??? might try again,

this fabulous find must be one of my favourite places to stop for coffee and cake. My dog was able to have a good walk up to the salmon leap where at the moment work is ongoing so it is not easy to watch for salmon making their way up the river, but much better than a quick stop at the side of the road. they very kindly have doggy bins there as well, there is a small visitor centre that the children spent a little time in ( it was also good that they got a good run about in the fresh air!) anyway back to the cafe- it is built a bit like a log cabin and they have the usual delights of teas, coffees homebaked cakes and scones etc. there is also a snack menu. the place is lovely and warm and inviting, very clean and tidy and the staff are friendly and efficient. I am looking forward to dropping in next time we pass.

We go to the Waterwheel regularly. They do a really good latte and a great range of pastries. Can particularly recommend the cheese scones. At the moment they are refurbishing the cauld, but normally there is an easy, pleasant walk from the cafe along to the salmon leap - very entertaining at this time of the year.

Stopped here for 'breakfast' on a damp, grey Scots Sunday morning. We were met with a very warm welcome. Excellent bacon rolls, coffee, tea - with enough extra hot water provided for even the most avid tea drinker - and cakes so tempting that we had to succumb! And we were not disappointed. I can especially recommend the oatie creams - naughty but nice! Some lovely local crafts for sale too. And, always a plus in my book, the loos are excellent!
