“Best Country House”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

Stayed here for a night whilst working at the Melrose Sevens, previous years have seen us at various hotels in the area and I have found this to be the best by a bit.
My room was spacious, comfortable and immaculate, staff were extremely courteous and seemed genuinly fdriendly without being in any way stuffy.
Evening meal and breakfast both a credit to the kitchen.
I hope we get booked in here again next year.

Treated my husband to a special birthday with this overnight stay and we were very impressed on arriving at the hotel which was set in lovely grounds. We received a warm welcome and shown to our room (number 5) which was on the top floor of the hotel, facing out towards the car park and fish pond. The room was very comfortable and warm and had a lovely bathroom. Our food at dinner and breakfast was very good and all staff were helpful and friendly. The free wifi in the room was a bit of a hit or a miss but was fine in other areas of the hotel. I did feel that the prices at the bar were a bit expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed at recently, however, we greatly enjoyed our stay here and the service we received.

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us as a special birthday treat. The fish are now just coming out of hibernation after the long winter which makes for a nice view for our guests. We hope to welcome you back

Stayed here at Easter Weekend. Received a warm welcome and shown to our rooms. Rooms were split level and bedroom and living room had small balconies. Rooms were very comfortable and warm which helped given the cold Easter weather. Food was excellent, so much so could not manage a sweet as portions were good. Staff in hotel very friendly and have a good knowledge of the local area. Hotel setting is very nice and peaceful. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Would recommend deluxe rooms.

Booked for two nights last week for a special occasion. How special it turned out to be! The staff are welcoming and thoroughly professional. The accommodation is excellent and the food served at dinner and breakfast was brilliant. Set in picturesque woodland on the outskirts of the town this hotel is a perfect retreat for any occasion.

We stayed for 2 nights during the recent snow and sub-zero weather conditions but had a most enjoyable visit. The hotel was warm and cosy and the staff were friendly and very welcoming. The standard of the decor throughout the hotel was impressive and our room was large and well furnished with a lovely bathroom. The food served in the restaurant, both at dinner and breakfast, was first class. We will certainly plan a return trip, preferably when the weather is less severe and when the local visitor attractions are open for the season as most places we visited were closed until the Easter weekend.

We stayed here for couple of nights last week and the experience was fabulous! The accomodation was excellent, food was out of this world and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Hotel was within walking distance of the town of Selkirk which was good. Also the location of the hotel, within it's own grounds, was just great. I will be recommending this hotel to all my friends and family and I would recommend it to all tripadvisor members and readers!

Room Tip: I would imagine any room in this hotel will be good.
