“cant beleive this little piece of italy gets any bad reviews”

as soon as we arrived here we were treated like royalty, the atmosphire and the decor of the restaraunt was in a different class, the owner francesco was extremley friendly and welcoming and it had rubbed off on the rest of the staff as they were on the same wave length, well i had the special for starter which was a mixture of melenzane and courgette flower(delicous)my good lady had the antipasto which came very well presented on a lovely looking wooden board and she said it was one of the best mix of italian cured meats shes ever had along with a piece of the homemade bread which i had to steal a piece from as it looked so tasty and it didnt dissapoint, for main course i had the frankie special sirloin with italian noodles and i asked it to be cooked medium and i have to say its been a long time since i have had a steak cooked the way i like it,the sauce was a mushroom brandy cream and black pepper sauce which was just amazing,my wife opted for the seabass which came in a foil wrapper and when she opened it she was blown away with the presentation of it,it was lying on a bed of thinly sliced potatoes and topped with there homemade italian sauce she said it was the nicest piece of fish shes had for a long time,we ended up sharing a piece of the homemade tiramasu for dessert as we were full and we couldnt resist a piece when we saw it,we have seen a couple of negative views on this restaraunt but 99% are positive and we are in that percentage as we cant understand how any one could give a bad review on this amazing restaraunt, its a definate must for anyone who hasnt experienced it for themselves, long live francos

“A fine place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

My first meal here was so good that I took a friend back the next night. Why? Fine italian food, friendly, cheery and efficient staff and a pleasant, convivial buzz makes for a lovely dining experience, and I completely recommend Franco's. The staff work really hard and are never far away if needed. Best to book which is always a good sign.

Can't fault anything about our meal we had. There was 10 of us on a night out and we all had a fantastic time. Service was first class and food was excellent. Staff were very very helpful and gave us first class attention. Would recommend Francos to anyone who wants great atmosphere and a quality meal will definitely be back.

“Excellent service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

We stopped off at Francos to break our journey after doing battle with the motorway around Glasgow. All the staff were courteous and welcoming, The decor in the restaurant is very pleasing with good views from the window seats.. Our meals arrived in a timely manner, Franco being especially helpful, altering the menu choice to suite us. The meal was very good and sent us on our way much calmed and happy. Thanks to all.

we visited on 20th of may as was stayen at local hotel for g/f bday. looked good from outside. was empty apart from 5 ppl at anthr table. service was fast. had garlic bread with cheese to share.abit to much cheese and not much garlic.both had pizza for main course. pizza base abit undercooked on underside. bein from.an italian family. food was at a minor.staff kept coming to.table all the tine asking if we was happy and ok.but got annoying.tv playen news channel. only upside was window seat looking over river. if they paid more effort to standard of food and tatse.place could be a success.maybe considor a revist. onlt if nothing else open in area.
