“Disgusting gloop, rock hard bread, steak as tough as leather!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

Ordered a Franco Special "Sirloin"(????) steak with garlic bread and noodels - where to start!!
The steak was never a sirloin but a cheap fatty cut and instead of medium -rare was as tough as old boots!! The sauce was like a can of Campbell's condensed soup as a previous reviewer has commented - gloopy crap. Then the bread - it was so hard it could have been classified as an offensive weapon...oh, and the service was atrocious!!!!
Utter crap - would never go again!

“Good view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were really lucky to have a good view at the window with fireworks on the green! It's a really nice atmosphere with super friendly staff. I wasn't overly impressed with my lasagne but everyone else in my group seemed happy. It was reasonably priced. The bruschetta was good. Very busy with people waiting as we left.

“Well worth a second visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

Franco's is a delightful highlight in Peebles when it comes to food. having visited once, we immediatly booked for the following evening. Delicious food both nights ranging from meatballs to seafood rissotto, then a pizza each, one meat, one seafood. Excellent unrushed service in a small but vibrant staurant. We opted for the house red which was smooth and served at just the right temperature, so an obvious choice for our second visit, and night one was not a one off, same excellent wine and service - and obvious pleasure that we were back again. If you are in the Scottish Borders a linch or evening meal at Franco's will help make your visit memorable.

“Lovely food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2012 via mobile

Really nice, authentic Italian food and good value. Pizzas were proper stone baked and my lasagna was huge!

We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy, but good quality places will be. Service was average due to how busy they were, but the food was worth the wait.

Recommended!
