I made this hotel my base for a walking holiday in the borders. Although I booked single accommodation my room was enormous, well furnished with a king sized bed and very good ensuite. It was warm, had the usual tv and tea/coffee making facilities and was immaculate. The view at the side of the hotel looked out onto the wall of an adjoining building but this was not of great import to me since I spent most daylight hours outside walking.
There are several public rooms all situated at the front of the hotel, all with fantastic south facing views of the hills as well as outside seating areas at the front.
The pool, with a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, is a fair size and does have a time slot for adults only and makes provision for children at other times.
There is a programme of daytime and evening activities within the hotel for those interested.
Buffet breakfast offers anything you could possibly want with excellent attendant service.
Parking is adequate and I found no problem. Peebles town is ten minutes walk. The local Borders buses for Edinburgh and Galashiels pass the front of the hotel with a bus stop on the main road near the end of the hotel access.
I can thoroughly recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful.More
