My wife and i had a couple of days at the Hydro in November, we were on a bit of a tour round but thought the Hydro was the find of the whole trip. We booked in on one of the mid week specials, with the evening meal included.
We were very impressed with the hotel, it appeared to be geared up to do as much or a little as you wanted, with excellent leisure facilities the spa was brill.
We had a front facing room with amazing views, and i mean amazing!!!!!!
We had a spacious room which we were very comfortable in. You could walk down into the town of Peebles in a few minutes, lots of nice river walks and shops to look around....
The food was real nice and we enjoyed getting dressed up for Dinner, but for me the lasting memory of this hotel was the friendly and helpful staff members, which i believe add's that bit extra.. So give it a try, we loved it.

We went down for an overnight stay christmas dinner and disco/live band bash..

It was simple superb.

The leisure facilities are spotlessly clean and very good. Group of 12 all very pleased.

Will be returning very soon.

Excellent.

Room Tip: Front facing. The views are amazing

went to the xmas party night ,billed as black tie event, was nothing like it,far to many folk in the place no room to move, the band where good, the disco was great, the bar area far too small, the staff where friendly,i have been to the hotel before and the evening meal was good, not this year, very rushed ,not very hot {bland}.the room this year nice and clean, good shower.for all of this i would come back, may not be for a fake black tie night

Room Tip: get a room near the lift ,could be a long walk to your room

My family had a meal at the Carvery lunch at the Hydro (it's on the first Sunday of every month) and had a fantastic time. We were all catered for from my parents, to my niece and my small children and nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff, from the carvery chef to the waiting staff and Angus (who appeared to be the head of the restaurant) were lovely. The food was great (recommend the roast beef -cooked perfectly, medium). I was only a little surprised this place wasn't busier (although it was December and the snow was starting to fall). Beautiful views from the lounge area too, were we relaxed after lunch. Will definitely return.
