Excellent location and facilities. Very good welcome pack and friendly pleasant owners.
We had a lovely family get together. Visited Abbotsford Estate,Traquer, climbed one of the Eildons in Gale force winds and travelled on train to Edinburgh where we had lunch in The Annotated Rose Street.
Orchard Cottage is certainly on our shortlist to return.

“Perfect Cottage for exploring The Borders”

If you are looking for a base from which to explore The Borders then look no further, you will struggle to find better accommodation than Orchard cottage
The approach to the cottage looks lovely but once you walk down the hall you realize that it is something special! When you see the magnificent lounge/dining room with a balcony to the upstairs bedroom it is stunning. The large sun room leading off the lounge, which doubles as a third bedroom, adds to the wonderful light space.
The whole house is finished to a very high standard and very importantly beautifully clean.
Everything is provided, from the extensive welcome pack, to cleaning products, dvd's, cycles, you name it it was there.
This has to be the best cottage we have ever rented, just read the previous reviews, I don't think you will find a bad one.
Mike and Pat you should be rightfully proud of what you have achieved, thanks for letting us stay.

We stayed here for the bank holiday weekend with the family. The cottage far exceeded our expectations. It was modern, spacious and had everything you could possibly need - and slept 6 comfortably. The owner was lovely and came to check everything was ok and gave us some great advice regarding our trip into Edinburg on the train. We will most definitely come back and stay and would whole heartedly recommend a visit. Thanks Mike and pat .

The cottage is actually a modern built property with wonderful high ceiling in the living area. Everything is provided for a very relaxing stay. Close to Melrose and within walking distance of the Borders Railway. The owners are delightful and very keen that their guests have everything required. The wonderful array of local food and drink on arrival was unexpected and very much appreciated. We would absolutely recommend this holiday accommodation.

“Absolutely superb, the cottage, the area, everything!”

Booked for a relaxing New Year stay in Melrose. The cottage (actually a very modern, thoughtfully designed luxury property), was everything we wanted, and exceeded our expectations. I could live there! To start you drive through Melrose itself which is an untouched immaculate Scottish town. You drive up to the cottage and the gardens and surrounding area is so well kept, clean and very welcoming. Open the front door, and walk into a warm, open plan living area with everything that you could possibly need for a short stay or a longer holiday. Honestly there is nothing that you need that isn't available. I could go on and on, but just book it you will not be disappointed-I would totally recommend this cottage-Mike is wonderful, friendly, and so are the neighbours-We will definitely be back-oh and New Year in Melrose is superb-pipers-fireworks-singing-excellent. Loved, loved loved it!

Excellent , the feedback from the owners was great , the house itself was situated well to visit the Scottish borders , lots of culture and local attractions within a short driving distance from the house. The house is in my opinion the best self catering house I have rented . The owners had thought of everything. Its always nice when the house you rent exceeds your expectations.
