“IT SHOULD BE A TOURIST ATTRACTION IN HAWICK”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Very recently my wife and i along with 2 friends whilst visiting hawick and after reading other reviews booked a table.
From the minute we entered the building to the minute we left i can only say how impressed we all were..
The staff were fantastic - they could not do enough for us and very efficient and this service was only matched by not only the quality of food offered but the choice as well.
We all opted to take the carvery and the value was simply amazing with the chef extremely helpful in explaining each dish.
Scotland has many treasures and to us the MAYFIELD is one of them and.when we are next in the area we will not hesitate in visiting the restaurant and highly recommend it to everyone else.

“Thanks Tripadvisor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2012 via mobile

After reading the reviews whilst on holiday in Hawick (2 adults and 5 children) we decided to try this restaurant, wow !!
All seven of us ate three courses (a Wednesday and Thursday only fixed price extensive menu). All plates were cleared and with two rounds of soft drinks the bill was less than £90. The food was excellent as was the service. Please don't be put off on arriving, we were a bit dubious but looks can be deceiving and we reallŷ enjoyed great food at a reasonable price.

“Hawicks best kept secret!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2012

really good wholesome food served by courteous staff, the carvery is excellent value for money and when they say eat all you can, they mean it!
The meat was fresh, the veg was nice and crisp and so many choices of side dishes and sauces.
Yes well worth a visit if you are in Hawick but might be worth booking especially for a Sunday.

“Lovely staff, good food and friendly atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2012

My husband and I on entering, enjoyed a lovely friendly welcome at the Mayfield. We opted for the carvery, which is excellent value for money, and did not make the wrong choice. The food was fresh, hot and very appetising. The staff were extremely attentive and always available when required. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for a good place to eat in Hawick.
