this was our first trip to scotland and we were unsure where to stay we wanted somewhere away from the town. Boy did we get a fantastic place, the acomadation was first class which is important, but better than that janet and les made us feel so welcome (it was as though we were part of there family) the location is perfect out of the way with a small village only 2 miles away, in which the pub the cross keys is a great place to visit with fantastic home cooked food, although janet will provide a cooked meal, of excelent quality, it is a great place to use as a base to explore the borderd. good road network to the city of edinbrough and the coast. we loved it

Room Tip: rooms were excelent great views out of the velux

What a fabulous couple Janet and Les are. Excellent hosts. Happy to pass on their knowledge of the local area. Culturally enlightening. Motorbike friendly! Yummy breakfast. Very comfortable accommodation. We would certainly stay here again and recommend it to friends.

On entering the property you are greeted with a friendly and happy family who couldn't do enough to ensure your stay was as enjoyable as possible.
The bedroom & bathroom were lovely and clean, modern with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The usual tea & coffee making facilities were available. In the dining room/guest day room there is an array of books & games to help pass the time if you need to.
The accommodation is located in a small village, just 5 minutes drive from the nearest village which have pubs to choose from for evening meals.
There is nothing negative to stay about this B&B - its just a fantastic, friendly and relaxing place to stay.

Room Tip: Both rooms lovely

Janet and Les went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable and were happy to give helpful advice on the local area, and even book a meal. Comfortable room with good facilities - tea/coffee making, small flat screen TV, wi-fi, hairdryer etc. Thoughtful all round. Recommended.

Stayed a couple of times over the years at Hassendean. Very welcoming and serve a great breakfast. The area is peaceful but not far to drive into Hawick, Jedburgh, Kelso and all around the Borders to sight see, golf or fish. Janet & Les, your hosts, can advise on places to eat locally. We'll certainly be back. P.S- I never give "5" on reviews, so this is a pretty good score for Hassendean , well done !

What a find this place was, we were attending our friend's wedding and this B & B was ideally located. The reception we received on arrival was excellent, Janet made us feel as if we were part of her home. The breakfast was definitely worth waiting for. The room was very comfortable with great ensuite bathroom facilities. The views across to Ruberslaw are worth seeing. What I didn't realise, is how busy the Borders are. Whilst we didn't have much time to explore the area, we will definitely be back in the future to experience other things in the area. I can only say thank you to Janet & Les for treating us so well.
