My friend and I travelled up to Hawick for a wedding, and booked 2 nights at The Bank.
We paid £80 per night for a twin room, inc breakfasts, and to be honest it could almost have been called a suite. Great value for money.
It's a beautiful building with a lot of character - very stylishly renovated. As it used to be a bank the rooms are spacious, and the walls good and thick, so you can get a peaceful nights sleep no matter what the folks next door are up to. The beds are a delight, it was a struggle to leave them in the morning!
The lady who owns it is welcoming, kind, and full of useful bits of information about the town. She recommended places to see/eat/drink, and they were all good.
The breakfasts are super. There's a great selection, and it's all so tasty and fresh. I can heartily recomend the full English, we had it both mornings it was so good!
Parking is ample too, it has it's own little carpark tucked away.
It's certainly a place we'll be going back to. It's situated in a handy spot for sightseeing of other towns/attractions etc.

Overall - a fabulous guest house!

What can i say! I have never had such a warm welcome or enjoyed my stay as much as i did at the Bank hotel in Hawick. Donna was fantastic and just couldnt do enough for us...breakfast was brilliant as was the general atmosphere of the place. Cant wait to go back there and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing and sophisticated break in this lovely hotel. Very jealous of the decor and was really impressed with the high standards that are kept here. after only 2 nights...which wasnt long enough...Donna felt like an old friend and i am looking forward to going back there ASAP! Amazing place! thanks donna!

We stayed at The Bank Guest House for two nights in July 2008 while we were in Scotland for a wedding at Hoscote House near Hawick. Nothing was too much trouble for Donna, who put a double bed in her last available room (normally a single) for us. She introduced us to other guests who were going to the same wedding and even offered us all a lift there!

The building is a magnificent former bank and has been transformed in to a stylish and luxurious guest house. We stayed in the former cashier's office at the top of the building, a beautifully decorated room with its own little wooden staircase and a small ensuite shower room - lovely strong shower and all very clean. The bed was really comfortable and the room had soft dressing gowns, big towels, hairdryer, wardrobe and TV. Donna provided bottled water and snacks in the room, and tea/coffee was available whenever we fancied it. Breakfast was just what we needed the morning after a big wedding - lots to choose from including cereals, bacon and eggs, toast, yogurts, salmon, cream cheese & croissants and plenty of tea and coffee refills.

It's a little bit tricky to spot the building from the high street but parking is at the back anyway - along with a small patio area that's perfect for sharing a bottle of wine and chatting to Donna's other guests.

The Bank Guest House was definitely one of the best guest houses we've ever stayed in thanks to Donna's warm welcome and amazing refurb of the building. Highly recommended!

We were invited to our friends wedding reception in Hawick. Our friends sent us a list of places to stay in the local area (prices ranging from £25 - £125) . After reviewing them all on the internet; none seemed suitable for us. We then did our own internet search and came across The Bank Guest House. We couldn't believe how stylish and modern it was, we expected it to be out of our price range, but we were pleasantly suprised.

We received a lovely homely welcome when we arrived and felt at ease straight away. We were blown away by the building and decor, the rooms are really spacious and the attention to detail was impressive.

We enjoyed a fantastic English Breakfast the following morning and nothing was too much trouble. We would love to stay there again in the future as all our needs were catered for by Donna & Billy.

"We would definately recommend it to anyone".

When we first looked at The Bank's website, we thought that it would be either 1) too expensive for us or 2) too good to be true. Neither applied! We stayed for a 3-night long-awaited weekend break with some good friends and things just could not have been better from start to finish; apart from the inevitable speed at which the time passed.

We followed Donna's directions and found the Private Car Park with ease where we were greeted by our very friendly and amiable Hostess who made fresh coffee and made us feel right at home. Donna told us the history of the building and, more importantly, all the very best local spots to visit for the activities we had planned (mainly eating and drinking!), and there was no shortage of either both on and off the premises! (You MUST try the burgers at The Tower cafe/bar 2 doors down! Immense and real chips too! - You'll never eat another BigMac again!)

The old RBS building has been lovingly restored and it is immediately obvious that Donna & Billy have excellent taste and have not cut corners in blending the old architecture with modern decor and high quality furnishings. The over all impression in reality is exactly as it appears on the website, which is very rare in our experience.

We have stayed in many similar establishments in the North of England and Scotland and we can safely say that this has been the best so far!

If you're looking for luxury, freedom and a warm welcome (not to mention a fantastic breakfast!) you really can bank on The Bank! We invested and Donna certainly paid the dividends! ~ If you read this review Donna, we want royalties if this slogan appears in your advertising! Ha, ha! :o)

Thanks Donna! Highly recommended! We will be back!

*****
Fantastic accommodation, friendly atmosphere and really friendly couple have made a marvlous job of the decor. Its modern spotlessly clean and has all the extras of a five star hotel without the pool. Breaskfast was fantasic just right if you had a good night out.

Only one problem was there was no signage on the front of the building and we found it difficult to access it. But I am sure Donna the host will put this right. Would diffently go back and have recommended it highly to others well priced and well situated in Hawick.

A stay at the Bank Guest House is such a delightful experience and I can't recommend it enough. It's a real gem and deserves to be the best place to stay in Hawick.
The moment you arrive you receive a very warm welcome from Donna & Billy - who are the most friendliest hosts I've ever met and make you feel at home straight away. We were staying in Hawick for a friend's party and Donna offered to drive us to the venue & Billy very kindly arranged a local taxi driver to pick us up later. We were really touched by that!

The bedroom we had was so comfortable, and well equipped - better than most hotels I've stayed in! All spotlessly clean and well furninshed. We had a spacious bathroom too including fluffy bathrobes - not usual for a guest house - but then this is a step above most guest houses & more like a boutique hotel.
The house itself is just lovely - all high ceilings and lots of space very tastefully decorated and furnished by Donna & Billy.

Donna cooked us a great breakfast the next morning (at a time that suited us!) we were sorry we weren't staying for longer.

Some of our friends stayed elsewhere in & around Hawick and when we shared our experiences I have to say that they were very jealous when I told them about Bank House.
We should be up in Hawick for another party later this year & we will be staying here again without a doubt.
