“Fantastic, love to return!”

After having stayed at Braefoot Cottage for three weeks in September we can only recommend this fantastic Cottage in the former stable block of a big estate. We loved the very elegant interior decoration in all the rooms, beds were very good, wifi was excellent and everything was provided for. You can park your car in the courtyard of the stable block, so there are no long distances to carry your luggage. The location of the cottage near the Tweed and within the Estate of The Yair with park and walled garden is wonderful. You just step out of the cottage and you can do a lot of walks in beautiful scenery. Shopping for meals is easy with supermarkets in Galashiels, which is just about a 10 minutes’ drive away and there are such a lot of sights very close by. We do not want to forget the very friendly and helpful hosts. Thank you very much for everything.

Amazing Cottage !!! Superb house, totally renewed. With a lot of comfort: kitchen is super modern; rooms are very nice; 2 bathrooms fully functional; comfortable living room (modern TV and DVD player). Everything is perfect.
Moreover, Oliver is very great. Mr Duncan has showing us how to fish. Wonderfull stay in this cottage. We recommend totally !!!

But what a transformation!!!! Refurbished to a high standard but without losing the character of the place. Everything you need for a cosy stay..loved the log burner in the living room. Very comfy beds and tasteful décor.
The weather was kind enough for lovely walks and some trout fishing. The river at Yair never disappoints.
Thanks Oliver...we will be back and will certainly recommend.

We stayed here for an Easter holiday break and had a lovely relaxing stay. Oliver was very helpful and attentive and the Ghillie helped us get started with some fishing. We would definitely recommend and would go back. The cottage has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and is a fabulous home from home.

“Lovely, peacefull and comfortable cottage.”
Reviewed January 6, 2014 for a stay in December 2013

Well equipped cottage which was warm and comfortable. A spacious cottage with plenty of room for six people. Lovely towels and toiletaries provided. We even had a Christmas Tree! En-suite had walk in shower and family bathroom had a good shower over bath. Tastefully decorated. Easy access to many lovely walks. Friendly, helpful owners.

“Superb cottage with excellent facilities”
Reviewed November 24, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We stayed in this lovely cottage in November which is ideally situated if you are fishing as we were on the Yair beat. It has been well equipped and furnished to an excellent standard, the utility area provided good storage area for fishing equipment and the washing and drying facilities were top quality. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possible want and it was nice to find a few of the basics in the cupboards, tea, sugar etc. Bed linen, towels, logs etc were all provided as stated and the cottage was warm and comfortable and the log burner provided that extra warmth and cosy feel to the lounge. The wood flooring meant that wet dog paws could be cleaned up with ease. For those not fishing the cottage is well situated for exploring The Borders. We would definitely stay again if we fished the Tweed in that area next year, thank you Oliver and DD for your hospitality.
