We stayed in Hazel and Mary's house, which was listed in Oban several times through Trip Advisor, but actually in Melfort which is 30+ minutes from Oban for a weekend in August. We thought the cottage was a bit remote and did not contain the expected amenities (soap, shampoo, some kitchen condiments) that we thought it would. I do clearly see it listed as self-catering, but we thought it lacked some key amenities. The place was fairly clean, but a few opportunities for improvement exist in the bathrooms. I think the rent was a bit steep despite the lovely lochside location.
Lovely property with spectaular views across the Loch. We had a minor issue with the first property which was pointed out and we were happy to stay but we're quickly offered a separate property which was fab! Everything you could need was there and the sauna was a great treat! Staff were all friendly and helpful! Will be back!
The Dock master was very well equipped it had everything you could think of , cleaning and washing products too.
It was spotless clean and the location was fabulous, it had a gated garden which was great for our dog.
We stayed here for 3 nights over the Easter break.
Hazel could not have been more helpful and welcoming.
The views are stunning no matter what the weather.
The cottage is one of the best equipped we've ever stayed in and is lovely and tasty warm.
The sauna and the spa bath are lovely little touches and perfect after a day walking in the hills.
We would love to return and explore more and for longer.
