“Greystones Great!”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

A B&B with a real quality feel. Easy walk into town. Views from the room we had (superior double) spectacular. Made to feel very welcome by Mark and Suzanne who are evidently very professional in their management of Greystones. Breakfast first class with local produce. The en-suite is the same size as most rooms in the other B&Bs with real high quality fixtures and fittings and a terrific shower. All in all a great experience and we need to look no further for our next trip to Oban! We'll be back with the rest of the Clan!! If your budget is at the Greystone's tariff, then I recommend you don't need to look elsewhere.

Room Tip: You can't visit Oban without having a view of the Bay from your room.

This is a fabulous B&B and the only regret we have is that we could only stay one night. We had stayed with Suzanne and Mark when they had Dun Na Mara just outside Oban and that was 5 star. Their latest venture is even better. The location high above Oban is wonderful and the views fantastic. We stayed in the Turret room and it's beautifully appointed with a great seating area in the bay window, a huge bathroom with the best shower I've ever used and a sumptuous bath. We could have happily stayed in the room all of the time.
Breakfast was great with an excellent selection to suit all tastes.Suzanne and Mark are justifiably proud of their new place and owners like them deserve every encouragement for the excellent standards of service they offer. Staying with them is an experience worth repeating and we fully intend to.
Highly recommended for any age group. A true 5 star establishment.

Room Tip: Out Turret room is the most expensive but superb. Suzanne and Mark gave us a tour of the house and a...

We spent three nights here over the May holiday weekend, relieved that Mark and Suzanne had come back to Oban after a few years away; we stayed with them at Dun na Mara north of Oban a number of times back in the noughties. Dun na Mara had a fabulous setting, but it was out of the way for restaurants. At Greystones Mark and Suzanne have again worked their magic, but right in the heart of Oban within easy walking distance of some great restaurants. We had the turret room, which is huge and has commanding views over most of the town and out towards Kerrera, Mull, and Ardnamurchan. We spent hours reading in the turret itself, pausing to gaze at the endless play of soft greens, blues, and greys over land and sea. The bathroom is the size of most people's lounge and beautifully furnished. The decor is minimalist, but that lends a deep feeling of calm and style to the house without in any way sacrificing comforts - such as high quality bed linen. Breakfasts are a treat, with a wide choice of imaginative dishes using mostly local produce: ever had a granola sundae? This place is not cheap, but it is of a very high standard and we can heartily recommend it.

Great B & B. Turret room is fabulous, great views, very comfortable bed and an ensuite that has the wow factor with it's large walk through shower. Location is excellent being a stones throw from the harbour and some great eating places. Mark & Suzanne are great hosts and always make you feel very welcome. Breakfast menu has something for everyone and was very tasty and nicely presented. Always enjoy our trips to Oban and this was no exception.

Room Tip: Turret room is the largest. All rooms have great views. Despite being so close to the town centre, i...
