The Tower itself feels kind of unfinished (it actually is), but the view is superb. It is a steep climb though.

Quite a steep walk up although it can be reached by car. Not a lot here really, no history information boards that we could see. Just a pleasant walk with the dogs. A superb view from the top however, right over Oban Bay where lots of ferries depart to the islands.
Takes a bit to climb up to the top and you're rewarded with a great view over the city and the bay - but the tower itself is not so very interesting. Still - for the view it's well worth visiting.
free to enter and nice views over oban nice views
quite a hike up hill to get access inside just a wall was built to find employment for unempolyed builders by a philanthrapist
This tower can be seen from everywhere in Oban, and draws you to visit. There are several ways up, little alleys, fields, streets of pretty houses. It is peaceful inside the tower, though there are usually a few visitors - and the panorama from the viewing platform is probably as good as any, anywhere, especially on a fine evening.
Wonderful views, well looks after and tranquil. Lovely gardens, good photos to be taken from here.
Well worth the walk to get to it.
Need good weather though
