Take binoculars - you will enjoy picking out the islands and mountains. We had great weather and the clarity was wonderful. The story behind the folly is interesting - we hope this tower will not be allowed to get into disrepair - it is so much a part of the Oban scenery. When it is lit up at night it is awsome.

I walked up at night, Apart from the blinding lights, the place had a cool ambience at night. Great place to stretch your legs with a 15 minute walk from the town, and wonderful views when you get to the top

Great views of Oban and the surrounding countryside from the Tower. Very picturesque place for a wedding.

This is a lovely place to sit and relax, and see the sea through some of it's many windows. It's a bit of an effort to get to if you don't like climbing hills, but it's definitely worth the walk.

A folly that towers over the town, meant to give work to the unemployed at the time and to hav eall of McCaig's family in statues looking down on Oban. Fortunately McCaig died before that part was put into practice, so now you have a coliseum-type building high up above Oban, providing a focus for a walk, and giving great views over Oban and Kerrera Bay.
