“We loved it & didn't have kids with us”
Reviewed April 3, 2014 via mobile

Myself & my partner arrived here around lunchtime, we had a coupon out of a Oban broacher booklet so paid £7 each but if you don't have this at least book online as it's slightly cheaper (30% off) Once you have paid if you have your receipt stamped it's free to go back all week too.

We had a walk around the nature trail, watched the otters, seals and conger eel being fed, looked at all the different sea life in the many various tanks and enjoyed a hot chocolate and hot dog in the cafe.

The centre is open 10am till 4pm

11am - Otter talk/feed
12pm - Seal talk/feed
1:30pm - Interactive touch pool
2pm - Conger eel or Shark talk/feed (alternate days)
2:30pm - Kids activity time in cafe
3pm - Otter talk/feed
3:30pm - Seal talk/feed

The staff were friendly all round, very informative and always ready to answer any questions.

Spent the whole day there, really enjoyed it!!

Thank you so much for your review and for taking the time to write it for us. It is lovely to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us and that you took advantage of one of our many discount vouchers. It really is the people like yourself that take the time to attend the talks and feeds that are on throughout the day that get the most from their visit with us. Then after all that fun you get to relax in our shoreline coffee shop and enjoy one of our fantastic hot dogs. We really hope you will come back and visit us again soon.

“Ghost attraction”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

There weren't any ghosts firstly, lets be clear. Neither were there any visitors or staff when we turned up! Out of season a bit, possibly. But if you've seen Seals and Otters before then don't bother, the £12 a ticket is not worth the visit, unless I imagine for a family with young children. No sooner (after a brief peek at the otters) did we turn around and get back in the car. Saved us an expensive let down I imagine.

Thank you very much for your review and we are very sorry that you felt your visit was disappointing. The Sanctuary is a bit quieter out of the tourist season but we still have all of our talks and feeds going on throughout the day for our guests to enjoy. We also offer a large amount of discount vouchers both locally and nationally as well as a free seven day return to give our guests extra value for money. We do hope you will visit us again, possibly in the summer months when we are a bit busier and you can enjoy everything the sanctuary has to offer and then we hope you will change your mind. Please do let us know either way.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

We went here in 2012 and 2013 on our trip to Appin Holiday Homes.
I was shocked at the price at first but then i realized that this is a sanctuary and the work they do here is amazing rescuing seals and getting them healthy. Well worth the money.
There were lots of talks, information and helpful staff on hand.
The cafe make a really nice hot chocolate.
It was a wonderful day out both years and will definitely visit on our next trip.

Tips:
-The entrance covers you for 7 days so you can go back as many times as you like.
-Watch out for coupons in shops around oban.
-The seal talk is very informative.

“Great day out for family”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

Found the whole experience very interesting. Good day out for family with play area for children and space to run of energy. Views fantastic. I'm disabled and I managed fine here so did my friend who is also disabled. It was an overcast day when we went but that didn't make any difference. Staff were friendly. Over all great day out.
