“Fab place to stay”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

Stayed here for 3 nights in November and had a great time. The house is absolutely gorgeous and very tastefully decorated. As we had stayed previously when we got married in Oban last year we were given a bottle of prosecco on ice as a welcome back from Graeme.....a very nice touch!
The place is very clean and welcoming and all staff are extremely pleasant.
Have stayed in room 3 and room 9, both have excellent sea-views.
Will definitely return as soon as we can.

Dear Jackie M

It was super to have you both back to stay with us in November. Thank you so much for writing such a great review for Glenburnie. We are so sorry that we have not responded until now but we have had challenges accessing our TripAdvisor page.

We are delighted to hear that you liked our new decor so much. As you know, we had worked on this during our Winter closure last year. So far, all our guests have been really positive about it - which is super feedback for us.

Yes, certainly Room 3 and Room 9 have terrific sea views, where you can watch all the comings and goings in Oban Bay. It's always appreciated to have such glowing comments about Glenburnie's friendly team - thank you.

We hope to see you again this year so just let us know when you have your dates fixed.

With all our best wishes

Called from Mull -indicated we would be arriving 7 ish that evening. Did not want credit card and said they would sort it out when arriving. Friendly welcoming approach when we arrived -shown round -house warm and comfortable and lovely room with view to the front. Bedroom and small sitting room -shower a bit revealing but fun too!!
Breakfast was well served with various dishes of fresh fruit on offer (not tinned) and hot breakfast was lovely and served by son and daughter of owner.
Could not fault in any way -will return next year I hope. It was a real pleasure for us both to stay at Glenburnie and only a short walk for a lovely dinner in Oban.
Good wifi too

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 3 - could not fault in any way and better than most hotels

Room 3 is definitely one of guests' favourites - with its opaque walled glass shower, which we are happy you found fun! Do let us know when you will be returning this year to enjoy another Glenburnie breakfast. We'd be delighted to have you with us.

With all warmest wishes and looking forward to seeing you again soon

Huge room with a lovely bathroom and even a teddy bear on the bed!! Breakfast was delicious and the owner was very helpful. The accommodation was within easy walking distance of the town centre and opposite the sea front.

Just back from spending 2 nights here with my husband for my 30th birthday, we wanted something a little special as we were travelling without our 3 year old (who was being spoilt rotten at grans house!) anyway from the moment we arrived we were impressed, we were greeted by the owner who promptly gave us our room key (room 3) which was lovely, had it's own sitting room with dressing table, and 2 large comfy armchairs, the en suite shower room was spotless and I particularly liked the feature glass shower wall, there's the standard tea/coffee tray but also a tray with fizzy drinks, Pringles & chocolate bars (small charge for these but worth it if your not a hot drink person like us) also when we were at breakfast our room was serviced & more drinks replaced and bins emptied etc, never had that at any hotel before, I was also left a gift bag hanging on the outside of our door with a birthday card & some chocolates from the owners, such a lovely touch!! We will be back & will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to other people instead of the bigger hotels which all seem to have mixed reviews unlike this one.

Dear Kilsythgirl

It was super to read your review following your stay at Glenburnie House in November. We are so sorry that we have not responded to you until now, but we have had difficulties accessing our TripAdvisor page.

We were so happy to hear that we made your special 30th Birthday getaway such a memorable experience for you. Room 3 is super, and certainly our glass walled shower is quite a feature. We are delighted that you liked it. We did introduce our honesty bars with a selection of soft drinks and snacks for exactly the reason you mention - as many of our guests are not tea or coffee lovers - so again, happy that you both found this useful.

We couldn't have possibly let your 30th Birthday slip by unnoticed - and are thrilled that you enjoyed your chocolates!

Thank you so much again for such a positive recommendation and for spreading the word about Glenburnie House to your friends and family.

Let us know when you are coming back for your next birthday stay!

With all our warmest wishes

Stayed at the Glenburnie hotel last night,9.11.13, and I don't know whether to share this, in case you all book, but it was gorgeous! From the moment I booked the room by telephone everything was relaxed and friendly. When we arrived we were shown the lounge and dining room, both on the ground floor and then 2 flights of stairs up to our room(9). The decor is lovely and fresh, with the most gorgeous wall paper. Our room was cosy and had the best sea views. 2 comfortable chairs in the bay window made it difficult to tear ourselves away! Breakfast this morning was lovely poached fruit with Greek yogurt and then a cooked meal with eggs of your choice. But please don't all book this lovely hotel because I want my room back next year!!!

Room Tip: Room 9. Lovely sea views

Dear Crailpam

Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review for Glenburnie House following your stay with us in November. Our apologies that it has taken us some time to respond to you due to challenges accessing our TripAdvisor account.

Everyone was really happy to read that you found your stay with us such a positive experience, from start to finish. We would definitely agree with you that our sea view facing rooms, like Room 9, are hard to beat with their panoramic sea views. As you mention, such a wonderful place to sit on those comfy armchairs and watch 'the world on water go by'!

It is very encouraging for us to hear that you liked our decor. We spent many months renovating our central hallway area last year, and are happy that you admired our wallpaper.

The Glenburnie team look forward to welcoming you back to Room 9 in the not too distant future!

With all our best wishes -

Everyone at Glenburnie

Love everything about Glenburnie and get withdrawal symptoms when I'm away too long! The location is stunning, the breakfast is exceptional (particularly after a run of "full Scottish breakfasts"!) and Graeme and his staff make you feel so welcome. First class!
