My wife and I drove into Oban after being in Glasgow with no idea where to stay. Since driving and parking there was extremely difficult we parked near the Scotrail station and began walking and looking at Hotel rooms. The Columba was the furthest out but we were not pleased with the other Hotels. We went inside the Hotel Columba and were greeted by Matthew. He was very funny and made us feel at home. We looked at some rooms and came back downstairs and told him we would like to have room 216. This faced the Harbor and away from the street. We negotiated a price with him and asked where we could park. We went and got our car trying to find a parking spot. Matthew came out of the office and gave us his parking spot, which was great. We extended our stay there because we were in walking distance from the Oban Distillery and most of the Restaurants. Also the WiFi always worked. The breakfast was a delight and the eating area was always spotless.

Room Tip: Ask for Matthew!

An old style Victorian lounge with dated furniture, we just popped for breakfast and ordered two Columbia fry-ups, the portion sizes were rather generous for the price.

Good service and good views over the bay from a very central location on the pier.

Stayed at this hotel for the sept weekend. The views from our room were breathe taking.. We had a family room on the top floor, which had 2 separate bedrooms very large, spacious and modern. Hotel food was good and we all had a great time. We would return to this hotel again.

This hotel has the best location in Oban. It sits right on the pier with breathtaking views of the sea and the nearby islands and yet still remains very central for exploring the town. Our room was absolutely stunning and the warm welcome and treatment we received from General Manager Mathew was first class. I can't thank him enough for his room selection and all his assistance which definitely made our holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view.

We stayed last minutes before travelling over to the Isle of Mull the following day. The location was excellent, being just a few minutes walk from the train station and ferry terminal. Staff were very friendly and the bedroom had a stunning view. We though the room rates were a bit high, but I guess that's true of all hotels in Oban at this time of year. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the breakfast, which was the best we had experienced in a long time. The next time we are heading out to the islands we will definitely stary here again.
