“Best Seafood in the World”

All has been said by others regarding opening times and sittings . The food , the place itself , the general ambiance could not be faulted, well worth a visit if you are in Oban .

“Superb food, views and ambience”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

This is a must when you visit Oban but booking is essential as the restaurant is very small. There are 2 sittings, at 6.15pm and 8.30pm and the menu is fairly limited because of the fresh seafood available at the time. The staff are really friendly and the views across the loch are stunning.

“Sunglasses and wine glasses”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

We had to wear sunglasses throughout the meal and even if there had been blinds to close we wouldn't have because the view out over Oban bay to Kerrera and the constant movement of boats made conversation almost redundant. Every table has this view because the clever use of mirrors means no-one is deprived.
Under new ownership the food is just as good if not better because of improved accompaniments to main dishes. My only quibble here is the dressing on the salad which lacked balance, something which is easily adjusted.
The pavlova was excellent and thank goodness we'd opted to share. We would have shared it with our daughter as well but she'd had to go and lie down on a bench outside to digest!
The wine list was also full of interest. Unfortunately it would have been unwise to try everything.

Lovely little restaurant with views over the loch. Amazing seafood platter for two people £70. Great local seafood and friendly staff. Good size portions too.

“Just bliss”
Reviewed June 17, 2012 via mobile

We had eaten at the Seafood Temple a few years ago and were desperate to return. We were not disappointed! The prices had increased and the food is no longer served in enormous portions on huge platters, but the portions are now much more manageable and certainly more than adequate! My husband had oysters which were utterly delicious and very fresh! I had the fish cakes which were incredibly tasty! Then hubby had surf and turf (with lobster - there is a choice of langoustines or lobster) and I had a half lobster with delicious creamy sauce. Hubby declared the steak one of the tastiest he had ever eaten, didn't even have mustard as it would have detracted from the flavour! I got to sample a bit - had to agree with him! We had a delicious bottle of Sauvignon blanc with our meal, finished with a shared dessert of homemade ice creams (raspberry meringue and chic/whiskey/raisin) and coffees. Hubby had a brandy too. Not a cheap meal, just short of £100, but amazing food, delicious wine, great personable service and a view to die for!! So good value in our eyes, and a perfect way to celebrate our 20th anniversary! Will not be waiting till the next big anniversary to return (hopefully!) Many thanks to all for such a memorable night.
