A comfortable guest house with lovely gardens and views. We had a nice sized downstairs room. Appreciated the generous cooked breakfast. A nice lounge area with included wifi and superb choice of whisky. The gardens were in full bloom.

A warm welcome from Marion, Mike and Zeppi their huge puppy. This lovely old house is perched majestically above the Oban waterfront with fantastic views from the award winning garden and beautifully decorated room. The most comfortable bed we've slept in for years and ever so peaceful. Mind you, the malt whisky (from 100 in the bar) may have helped too. Not cheap but great value - felt like we were in a country house of our own. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this place after having dinner at a local eatery. Went inside the whiskey bar for some after dinner drinks and were greeted by the owners and welcomed in. Amazing sunset views and whiskey selection. Michael clearly has a knowledge of whiskey!! The house is amazing and after we found out the price of the rooms, I wished we had stayed here all night instead of going back to our hotel with much poorer accommodations.

On arrival at this five star Country Guest House/B&B/Hotel (not sure what to call it) my two sisters and myself were godsmacked by the beautful setting of this lovely house originally built as a summer residence by the Duke of Argyll in 1870, it is situated on the edge of the town of Oban. The tranquil and secluded, yet commanding position means that the hotel offers superb views to 3 sides. Oban’s promenade and the town’s shops are just a 10-minute stroll away. On answering the door Mike was a bit surprised as he thought we had cancelled but that did not deter from the welcome. We were shown to our large rooms, one on ground floor which was great as sister is not very good on stairs, case carried in for us, up to room 4 ( if I remember correctly) which is the twin both en suite and well decorated and comfortable beds, we all slept very well tea & coffee etc. part sea view from both. There is a well stocked bar with a huge picture window overlooking the bay which would have been good to sit in had we stayed longer as would the residents’ lounge. Breakfast was superb, cooked to order and with plenty of choice we had the seat by the window.(can't get enough of the views) It's at the top end of the market and I felt it was good value.
. I only brielfy saw Marion and the huge dog which is very friendly. Parking is easy if this is ranked 29 I wonder what 1 is like as this is just a lovely place to stay.
